Lion Semi Truck Parts & Accessories

Semi Truck Parts & Accessories

The electrification in the automotive industry gathers pace all around the globe. We are witnessing more and more models getting into the game each year. Today, there are not only electric passenger cars but also semi-trucks and other vehicles powered by a battery available on the market. They are offered by various automakers. However, if you ask who sells most electric school buses stateside, the answer will be Lion Electric Co. Initially founded as Lion Bus to build school buses in 2008, it was rebranded nine years later as part of its transition to EVs. Today, its lineup also includes transit/shuttle buses as well as Class 5 and Class 8 commercial trucks. All of them are well supported by the aftermarket. So whether it is a maintenance, repair, or upgrade job, there are the right Lion accessories and parts to get it done.

The Lion 360 was the first model released by the brand in 2011. It was available as a school, activity, or commercial-use bus. Whatever the model, it was powered by a Cummins diesel engine. The vehicle featured a proprietary chassis which was developed by Spartan Chassis. Its gas-powered variant was introduced to the public in 2015. The company released its first all-electric vehicle for the same model year. It hit the market under the name the LionC. In fact, it shares lots of parts and accessories inside and out with the 360. But it is equipped with an electric motor which is supplied by a lithium-ion battery instead of a diesel engine. The total system output is rated at 335 horsepower. When it comes to appearance, it differentiates itself from diesel- and gas-powered models with colored bumpers: they are painted in green or blue. The LionA, LionD, LionM, and Lion8 enjoined the line later on.

Depending on the model, there are one or two lithium-ion battery packs. The LionC can drive 100, 125, or 155 miles on a single charge. The LionA is a TypeC school bus which offers 215 horsepower and can drive either 75 or 150 miles per charge. As its name suggests, the LionD is a TypeD bus with a larger axle configuration. Its electric motor can generate up to 335 horsepower. This model drives 100, 125, or 155 miles on a single charge. The driving range depends on the capacity of the installed battery pack(s). The Lion8 is a Class 8 truck with a 470-hp electric motor. Its driving range is estimated at 250 miles. The brand’s lineup continues to be expanded with new models. The selection of Lion parts and accessories from aftermarket manufacturers is also constantly growing.
