At this period, the company started implementing assembly line production and introduced turbocharging technology. During WWII, the production was mainly focused on diesel engines for military needs. Almost all MAN manufacturing facilities were completely destroyed during massive Allied air raids. After the war, the production was renewed. The company came back on its feet producing tractors and equipment for agriculture. In 1967, MAN started collaborating with Saviem, a French truck manufacturer. As a result, the MAN F8 cab over engine truck was created. The vehicle featured the revolutionary, ergonomically designed day or sleeper cab.

With the acquisition of Büssing in 1971, the company adopted its signature lion for MAN’s logo. In cooperation with Saviem and Volkswagen, MAN developed a range of lightweight trucks. For example, in the period from 1979 to 1993, more than 72,000 light-duty trucks based on the Volkswagen LT body were sold. The company continued expansion and entered the international market in the early 1980s. The sales started in South Africa, the Middle East, Turkey, China, Russia, and the United States. At the turn of the century, MAN introduced the new TG-Series of heavy-duty trucks setting new standards in the industry for decades to come.
