American Shifter® - 2nd Generation Custom Shift Knob Adapter

Well, I gave it two stars in installation because it is not universal, I had to have my dad machine and re-thread the adapter to fit my knob. But as far as price and quality it is a good adapter. Luckily my dad is a machinist or I would have had to return the adapter.

Not So Much

American Shifter® ASCAD31 - 2nd Generation Custom Shift Knob Adapter

The adapter came as shown. Also enclosed was a card for a website with directions. On the directions website, there is an additional "sleeve" part which makes sense. On my car (2007 Honda Fit) everything installed fine, but it will not stay tight. I think that "sleeve" part would give the screws something to latch onto rather than the metal-on-metal. To be fair, the screws seem to hit the gear shift at a place where there is a bit of an angle which exacerbates the issue. Haven't gone into full investigative mode yet; my turtle shift knob is swimming around a bit & that's ok with me. I might try a different adapter kit; not decided yet. I know customer service will be extremely helpful because they rock!
