Tack Cloth by Bondo®. Wipe Away Dust Particles. You can hardly see dust particles before painting, but they really show up after painting. That's why you want to use Bondo™ Bondo™ Tack Cloth to take off final dust on the car right before you paint. In fact, it is always advisable to wipe down a car in between coats of every base coat. Bondo™ tack cloth is an automotive-grade cloth containing a tack substance designed to remove fine particles of dust, lint and dirt that could diminish the quality of painted surfaces. The cloth is made to actually pick up tiny particles rather than just move them around.

Sources of Dust Contamination
There are many ways dust and contaminants can reach your vehicle during the painting process, making a thorough wiping down with a tack cloth highly advisable. Sources include unfiltered air entering the spray booth and work cloths that shed dust and lint. You should try to control these sources to less the effects of dust contamination.
An Intelligent Preventive Measure
Wiping down a primed or base-coat surface with a tack cloth is a simple and inexpensive step to prevent unpleasant consequences. Once annoying dust particles show up to roughen the surface, you can either choose to accept a substandard paint job or sand down the surface to eliminate the roughness.
