This is a feature that is enabled out of the box. The truck will run in the “NO POWER” mode until the engine coolant reaches the set temperature. The default temp is set at 172 degrees F. To change this temperature, or turn it off, go to the Main menu->Vehicle Setup->Set Defuel levels->Start up coolant temp. This can be lowered as low as 150 degrees F. It can also be turned off by pressing Defuel Off. To save changes just hit Go Back.
The power wire supplies key on/off power to the GT tuner. This will allow the device to power on and off with key cycles. Install the power wire into a 10 to 15 AMP key power fuse. Find this fuse by probing with a test light, or voltmeter to see if it has power when the key is on and no power when the key is off this is an ok fuse to use. (You may notice a black ground wire in the power wire, this will not be used! The OBDII block will be your ground for the key on/off power.)
We recommend that you update the device every 6-8 months if it is a newer vehicle, as we come out with updates on these vehicles regularly. If an update is required you will need to insure that the device is fully uninstalled from your vehicle. However if you are not experiencing any issues, there is not a need to update. In some cases it is better to not fix what isn't broken.
The VIN or part number that the tuner is currently locked to, does not match the one that it is reading off the PCM. Tuner could be locked to another vehicle. You can return to the previous vehicle and return the vehicle to stock. If this is not possible, most of our tuners can be reset over the phone for a Fee. Also could be that the PCM in the vehicle may have been flashed after the tune was installed, Thus erasing the Bully Dog tune off the ECM.

We have found with our testing that the power levels that we consider “EXTREME” (100+hp) cause the truck to regen too frequently, setting off trouble codes. We are continually trying different things to better our products, so there may be an EXTREME option in the future.
Before the Driving Coach can give you accurate information, it is important to make sure that the GT is showing the correct speed. In the sections below, you will find specific instructions for using the Driving Coach to become the best driver you can be.
Set Economy Goal
This option will allow you to select a fuel economy goal. The Driving Coach will use the economy goal to calculate your driving grade.
It is very important to select an economy goal that is realistic for both your vehicle and the kind of driving you will be doing. If you will be driving mainly in the city or on the highway, choose a goal that is very close to the advertised fuel efficiency for your vehicle in that type of environment. If you will be doing a mixture, choose an economy goal between the advertised city and highway mileage for your car.
Reset Average Economy
This option will clear the values stored in the GT for the average fuel economy, the number of gallons used, and the grade in the Driving Coach.
Adjust Acceleration
This option will allow you to select the GT sensitivity for the acceleration and deceleration for your vehicle. (how strict the coach will grade your driving habits.)
Coach Sound Setup
This option will allow you to turn the Driving Coach sounds on or off.
Showing/Hiding the Driving Coach
The driving coach is always running, even if you choose not to have the information displayed. You can show or hide the driving coach on the Main Display by holding one of the four bottom left buttons until the display cycles through to the gauge style that you want.
Set the temperature level at which the extra power level settings on your GT are automatically turned off to protect your engine from damage.
Do this by going to the main menu->Vehicle Setup->Set Defuel Levels.
