This package gives you all the Dynatrac strength and durability you need without requiring wheel changes or other costly upgrades that simply aren't necessary for the type of off-roading you do.

      The Trail Leader Axle Package™ includes an assembled ProRock 44™ Unlimited front axle with 1/2-inch thick axle tube walls complete with Dynatrac HD Rebuildable Balljoints, Dynatrac Pro Series™ diff cover, front Dynatrac axleshafts, ARB air Locker and ring-and-pinion gear set. Move your factory spindles and brakes onto this new front axle and the assembly is ready to bot into your Jeep!       All the strength your JK Dana 44 rear axle will ever need! This rear JK44 Axleshaft Bundle Kit increases the shaft diameter to from 30- to 35-spline. The shafts feature Dynatrac proprietary deep heat-treat for optimum yield strength (resistance to twisting) without making the axleshafts brittle. The shafts are U.S.-made, equipped with rolled splines and include new wheel studs, billet steel retainers, seals and all of the hardware that will be needed for installation. If you need more strength than this, then you need a Dynatrac ProRock® rear axle!

      The Dynatrac ProRock44/60 Hybrid™ offers all of the advantages of the ProRock 44™ plus the advantage of Dynatrac Pro60® axleshafts, knuckles, fixed spindles, 1480 steering joints and hubs. This provides the unbeatable ground clearance of a Dynatrac ProRock 44 and the axleshaft and outer-end strength of a ProRock 60! Add the strength of a Dynatrac Pro 60 at the ends of an ultra-high ground clearance ProRock 44. Dynatrac JK axles include exclusively designed ABS and stability control sensor mounts to maintain all factory function of these systems.

      ProRock 44/60 axles are available with either Warn or optional Dynatrac DynaLoc™ locking hubs. When you use the Dynaloc locking hubs with our exclusive Stub Hub kit, the overall package is 4.75-inches narrower. That means that the hubs tuck into the wheels better with 2.388-inches per side.

      ProRock XD60™

      Dynatrac™ introduces the next step in its revolutionary, patented ProRock™ series of off-road axles with the all-new ProRock XD60™. The Dynatrac engineering team went back to the drawing board to find ways to increase the strength and durability beyond the patented ProRock 60® which is already the industry standard for upgrades beyond the Dana 60.


      The all-new ProRock XD60 axle is now available in both front and rear applications for the 2007 to current Jeep Wrangler (JK).


      The new Dynatrac ProRock XD60 starts with a center section cast from high-strength nodular iron. The patented design provides the best ground clearance in the industry. The axle was designed to hold a larger differential and 10.1-inch ring gear, providing a 16 percent strength increase over 9.75-inch Dana 60 gears. Using CAD/FEA and advanced engineering tools, Dynatrac designed the new center section for increased rigidity, increasing the stability of critical tolerances during high stress for better durability. It is also available with larger carrier and pinion bearings for even more strength. The internal Dynatrac Dual Sump High Volume (DSHV) lubrication system provides optimal oiling. All of these improvements were achieved while also making the center section 15 percent lighter. The ProRock XD60 also has optimal cast-in features for air locker and electric locker connections..


      In addition to these engineering advancements in the center section and wheel ends, the Dynatrac XD60 also features an all-new differential cover designed to withstand brutal beatings in demanding off-road and racing conditions. The lower bolt heads are deeply embedded in the cover for skid protection, and the fasteners are the largest in the industry: 7/16 inch compared to conventional 3/8 inch. The rock ribs have been placed for optimal protection..


      The Dynatrac ProRock XD60 is designed for 3 3/4-inch outside-diameter axle tubes with either 1/4-inch or 5/16-inch wall thickness. The 1/4-inch-thick axle tubes are 22 percent stronger than a 3 1/8-inch-diameter tube with 5/16-inch wall thickness, and they weigh the same. The 5/16-inch-thick tubes are 12 percent stronger and 18 percent lighter than 3 1/8-inch-diameter tubes with 1/2-inch wall thickness. The Dynatrac ProRock XD60 accepts a full range of differentials, including air lockers, electric lockers and limited slips. Gear ratios are available from 3.54:1 to 5.38:1..

      ProRock 60 Builder’s Kit for Tacoma

      The ProRock 60 Builder’s Kit for Tacomas includes a high-pinion ProRock 60 housing, high-strength 35-spline axleshafts and Pro Series™ differential cover. This new axle includes the vital components and features that have made the ProRock 60 an icon in the industry:


      • Nodular iron center section engineered, cast and machined in the U.S.
      • Patented ProRock™ design that provides best-in-class ground clearance.
      • Proprietary oiling system.
      • Nodular iron diff cover with strategically-located rock ribs.

      The ProRock 60 Builder’s Kit is a significant improvement in rear-axle strength for Tacomas. It uses a 9.75-inch ring gear, compared to the stock 8.0-inch ring gear that comes in these trucks. The Dynatrac axleshafts are 35-spline, compared to the stock 30-spline shafts, and the Dynatrac shafts feature a unique heat-treat process for additional strength. The ProRock center section has Dynatrac legendary strength engineered into it, and the axle tubes have 0.3125-inch wall thickness, compared to 0.200-inch from the factory. The customer re-uses the brakes and ABS sensors, and he can either can supply the differential and ring-and-pinion gear of his choice to complete the axle assembly or order them separately from Dynatrac.

      ProRock Portal Axle™

      For the most extreme ground clearance available, the Dynatrac Portal Axle™ is fitted with AxleTech International Motorsports (AIM) portal axle ends. The advantage of this Dynatrac Portal Axle is that the gear reduction at the hub moves the axle centerline up five inches. This is a dramatic change in ground clearance; more ground clearance than switching from 35-inch to 44-inch tires on your vehicle!


      So what is the advantage of a portal axle? The gear reduction at the hub moves the axle center line up five inches for increased ground clearance. This is a dramatic change; the equivalent of switching from 35” to 44” tires on your vehicle. Additionally, the geared hub design provides a 1.5:1 gearing reduction through a massive 41 spline axle shaft designed specifically to account for increased torque loads. The nodular iron AIM portal gear boxes contain four 2.25 inch wide 8620 heat treated steel gears: a drive gear, two idler gears, and a gigantic driven gear that keeps the drive direction constant, making them a practical retrofit to traditional axle housings. By multiplying torque at the wheel, less torque is transferred through the driveshafts, transfer case, and other upstream drivetrain components. And a numerically higher gear ratio can also now be used, which results in a larger, stronger pinion gear.


      The idea of using portal axles for more ground clearance is not new, however there have been a number of factors that have made them unfeasible… until now. In the past you had to overcome poorly functioning drum brakes, long pinions that result in short driveline lengths, excessive weight, and difficult to source foreign parts when trying to retrofit portal axles to your Jeep or 4x4. Dynatrac has worked closely with AIM and Mopar to address all of these issues (and more) with the introduction of their innovative new portal complete axle assemblies and sub-assembly components.

      Realistically these new portal axles aren’t for everyone. They are not recommended for highway use, and the leverage of the portal design places additional stress on suspension mounting points and control arms. Electronic controls such as ESP and ABS cannot be retained with the portal boxes, as they can with Dynatrac’s traditional ProRock, Pro, and Trail Series axles. There is no provision for a standard parking brake; however a driveline brake at the transfer case can easily be added to address this issue. Final suspension design will be determined by many factors and it is crucial that the suspension design address the added torque and leverage of the portal system. The end user will need to design proper steering and a strong 4-link suspension. Therefore, it’s important that a qualified specialist with fabrication skills and a thorough knowledge of suspensions install it. In short, this isn’t a ‘turn-key’ assembly that fits any application. With the caveats out of the way, it becomes clear that if you require the absolute greatest ground clearance, with gear reduction to overcome the most severe, boulder-strewn trails and obstacles, there is no substitute for Dynatrac and Mopar axles equipped with AIM portal housings.


      The portal wheel ends are currently available for king pin steering knuckles and full floating rear Dana 60, Dana 70, and AAM 14-Bolt applications. Dynatrac can provide the AIM portal housings on their proprietary ProRock and Pro-series axle assemblies with suspension brackets for a wide variety of vehicle applications.


      Dynatrac are still very early in the evolution of portal axle systems. As more of these units are tested we’ll have more information regarding suspension and steering design to pass on to the installers. Company are continuing work with Mopar and AIM on Jeep Wrangler JKs to refine the system to create a more ‘turn-key’ package. Mopar Performance part numbers P5155670 and P5155671 are available from Dynatrac and your local Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep Dealer. They are specifically designed to fit 2007 and newer Wrangler JK vehicle if used for off-road only purposes.       The new Mopar Dana 60™ axles are bolt-in replacement upgrades for front and rear axles on the Jeep Wrangler JK. Some of the improvements in these Dana axles are are 35-spline chromoly axleshafts, Spicer® ring and pinion gear, selectable electric lockers, SPL® 70 U-joints and full-float design. These axles have an 8 x 6.5-inch wheel bolt pattern, heavy-duty brakes with plug-and-play ABS. Axles are available with 4.88:1 or 5.38:1 gear ratios.

The shafts are U.S.-made, equipped with rolled splines and include new wheel studs, billet steel retainers, seals and all of the hardware that will be needed for installation.
