Pioneer has a committed and professional executive team that takes pride in what they do. Pioneer has been recognized all around the world for several decades by offering great and diversified product lines.
By having its own manufacturing facilities, Pioneer can guarantee the best quality in the market with the most competitive cost structure. Its OEM facilities help the company maintain the strictest quality control systems but at the same time support it with designing and engineering capabilities.
For over 65 years, Pioneer Automotive Industries has been known throughout the automotive aftermarket as ''The Source for Hard-to-Find Products.''
During that time, Pioneer has been a leading supplier of OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) quality parts to re-manufacturers who rebuild engines and transmissions to the original equipment standards.
Pioneer also provides the same commitment to quality driveline components needed to repair and service domestic and import cars.
Nowhere in the industry will you find a more comprehensive coverage of products to repair and service driveline systems and components from a single source. Pioneer offers:
In your car or truck, if you encounter a stretch of road that has had the pavement removed prior to repaving, you can feel the vibrations that are passed through the chassis from the tires as they go over ripples in the road. The annoying vibrations are a form of harmonics.
The concept is rather a simple one. A two-piece disc was attached to the front of the crankshaft. A hub attached the balancer to the crankshaft and a cast-iron counter weight ring was bonded to the hub with high-strength Nitrile rubber. This design has been in use for many years by automakers, and is highly effective. The rubber allows the harmonic energy to be absorbed, lessening the torsional or twisting impact upon the crankshaft, and the distortion of the bearing journal surfaces. As a result, crankshaft and bearing life improved dramatically. Another popular design has been a single-piece hub with an integrated counter-weight.
Because of its location at the end of the crankshaft, the harmonic balancer has had an additional function – a mounting point for the accessory drive pulley. For many years, it had the accessory drive pulley attached to power belt-driven accessories (water pump, alternator, power steering pump, air conditioning). Recently, to save precious space in the engine bay, automakers turned the harmonic balancer into the pulley itself.
For many years, the engine’s timing relied upon the timing marks stamped onto the outer ring of the balancer. When the engine needed a turn-up, the mechanic utilized the reference points on the balancer to adjust the distributor. Today, electronically controlled engines have made the balancer control the engine’s timing. On many modern engines, the balancer may have either magnets or a gear-like device built in to trigger the firing of the spark plugs. However, the first function of the balancer must always be the suppression of the damaging harmonics.
Mounts
Mounts may have as many as three functions. First, it is an attachment point for a part of system to the chassis. Secondly, it often acts as an isolator – keeping noise and/or vibration from being transferred to the driver and passengers. In some cases, it may also be an adjustment point to keep components in proper alignment.
Most mounts are made of steel and rubber. Time, heat, automotive chemicals and vapors will deteriorate the rubber’s consistency and elasticity. Because mounts are often out of sight, they are ignored when a vehicle is serviced. Slowly, the rubber will deteriorate and the vibration begins to be felt.
If these problems aren’t addressed, the results can range from annoying noises to binding and ultimately destruction of components. Understanding why these relatively simple components fail will allow a technician or do-it-yourself enthusiast to guard against a worse problem in the future.
In many cases, engine mounts are never replaced in the service life of a car or truck. Pioneer highly recommends the mounts to be replaced when an engine is removed for major service or replacement.
Pioneer provides the automotive service and repair market the broadest coverage of products including:
Pioneer’s Powertrain product line includes parts for domestic and import vehicle applications. The manufacturer offers the broadest depth of vehicle coverage in the aftermarket, including a large number of parts and products to meet the unusual needs. Pioneer offers such items as grounding straps, tailgate support cables for pickups and SUVs, fasteners, control cables for Power Take-Off, and manual throttle and choke cables.
Do you have an automatic transmission-equipped car or truck? Pioneer offers OEM replacement covers plus SFI-spec flex plates for competition use.
Pioneer offers dual-mass flywheels and double-welded heavy-duty flex plates for trucks used in commercial or heavy hauling/towing applications.
Major changes have taken place in automatic transmission service in the past decade. The growth of front-wheel drive vehicles, electronics and other factors have caused a dramatic increase of transmission models.
In the early days of the automatic transmission, there may have been only five or six transmission models in service. Today, that number is nearly 250 (and growing). The complexity of today’s newer transmissions calls for more parts plus improved quality and service.
Today’s customer looks for a quick service to get their car or truck back on the road. This requires a reliable source of parts – including kits – to meet the service/repair expectations of customers, regardless of the year, make and model of the car or truck.
This means a supplier with both depth and breadth of coverage, and the ability to deliver the parts and kits when you need them.
Pioneer’s line of automatic transmission service and repair products covers the automatic transmission market from A to Z. Pioneer’s transmission service parts line is comprised of well over 1500 part numbers. This is the most comprehensive line for domestic cars and trucks, which includes the industry’s most extensive import coverage. Pioneer’s line includes these components and kits:
Today’s more sophisticated electronically-controlled transmissions are manufactured to higher tolerances than ever. Pioneer’s comprehensive line of kits and replacement parts assures that these critical parts are of original equipment quality for many miles of trouble-free operation.
