FAQ

Can I put a crane on a service body mounted on a Dodge truck?

The manufacturer determines what is appropriate to mount on their vehicles. Please contact our factory before installing any RKI product on a Dodge truck.

Can your paddle latches be adjusted?

Yes! You can either contact your local distributor for assistance, or refer to the troubleshooting section of the website for detailed instructions.

Do you offer a service body with a canopy top to go on a single rear wheel truck?

No. Because of weight limitations and restrictions, bodies with canopies are only available on dual rear wheel trucks.

I lost my key. What do I do?

If you know the key number, you can order a replacement key through your local RKI distributor . If you do not know your key number, contact your local RKI distributor to see if they can identify the key number for you. Some distributors have a set of master key rings to help identify key numbers. If your local distributor cannot identify your key number, the only option the distributor will have is to sell you a replacement lock and key.

I need new shocks for my toolbox. Where do I get them?

Replacement shocks can be purchased through the distributor who sold you your toolbox. If you do not know who you bought it from, you can contact your local distributor or our sales department. We will be happy to refer you to a distributor in your area.

I want to paint my box to match my truck. Can I order a box in a primer finish?

No. Our boxes are not coated with a primer. RKI uses a tough polyester powder coat finish on our truck boxes and window grilles, available in white or black. It can be lightly scuffed and cleaned (with a cleaner recommended by the automotive paint manufacturer), then apply the automotive paint.

My service body latch won't work right. What do I do?

Please contact your local distributor for assistance. If an RKI paddle latch is defective, we will cover it under our lifetime warranty.

Why do I need the serial number to order parts?

The serial number from your service body, winch or crane allows us to verify the model and ensure correct parts. Without serial number verification, parts are not guaranteed and are not returnable.

Why shouldn't I mount my cross box with two bolts per side?

Your cross box comes complete with a mounting kit and instructions designed to secure the box to the bed of the truck, while still allowing the truck bed and box to move independently over unlevel terrain. Installing the box with two bolts per side may cause either the box welds or the bed to crack and may void the warranty.
