Ford Excursion 2000, Stage 8 Super Truck Dimpled and Slotted Brake Kit by EBC®. Replace your old, worn out brakes with better performing pads and rotors from EBC. The Stage 8 Sport Brake Kit is designed to increase your stopping power and produce less brake dust than your stock brakes. The anodized layer is designed to disappear in the area that the brake pads contact the rotor.

Installation

Benefits:

  • Dimples are resistant to cracking compared to drilled holes
  • Slots increase pad bite and de-glaze pads
  • Create an escape route for debris, dust, and water
  • Reduce stopping distances in wet weather
  • Resistant to warping and fading

EBC pioneered brake rotors with dimple-drilled round indents decades ago to provide a solution to cracking problems that sometimes plague perforated rotors operating under high stress and heat conditions. What makes the 3GD Series Dimpled and Slotted Sport Rotors superior is the presence of both these dimpled indents and straight vent slots. Combined, they provide the superior expulsion of heat, water, brake dust, and friction gas that is needed to keep rotors cool and functional during street performance driving in any weather. Additionally, 3GD rotors feature a wider vented aperture for air to pass between both rotor sides, so metal expands evenly during use and the chance of warpage is minimized. 3GD rotors are designed for use with EBC Greenstuff™ 4x4 brake pads, Greenstuff™ 2000 compact car pads, Yellowstuff™ heavy duty 4x4 brake pads, and Yellowstuff™ / Redstuff™ pads created for shorter high performance street or track runs and drifting. 3GD brake rotors are anodized to prevent corrosion, and rotors should be fully ready for use after the first 500-miles of moderate brake application.

World-renowned brake experts at EBC have developed over a dozen variations of performance brake components, and each one is crafted to provide a superior level of grip, wear, and performance for uniquely different vehicle sizes, weights, and applications. When the company engineers who created pads that can survive 1,800 degree temperature test runs turn their attention to creating equally impressive brake rotors, you will see rotors finely tuned to deliver impressive looks behind your wheel spokes and last run performance that’s as equally impressive as your first. If you’ve been let down by underperforming brake rotors that didn’t last as long as they should, 3GD Series Dimpled and Slotted Sport Rotors are designed for the long run. If installed at the same time as a new set of EBC long life brake pads, it’s not uncommon for these rotors to last the length of the first set with more than enough life to be used with a second set. All EBC brake rotors are cast to a high metal strength rating of 150 newton meters and are precision CNC machined to be within tolerances of less than 0.05 millimeters. 3GD Series Dimpled and Slotted Sport Rotors are the result of relentless testing and refinement, and when better brake rotors are built it is EBC that will build them.

For the longest and hardest non-street racing applications, the brake experts at EBC have created the ultimate set of replacement brake pads. Orangestuff™ Full Race Brake Pads are constructed of a specially engineered metallic material that bites quickly and severely into brake rotors to provide powerful grip for any heavy racecar. Unlike EBC's Bluestuff™ organic pads that are designed for racing AND street use, these Orangestuff™ metallic pads are legal for racetrack use only because their level of grip makes them more difficult to apply gradually during everyday street driving. And while Bluestuff™ pad material prolongs brake rotor life, Orangestuff™'s extremely abrasive characteristics which give it such great braking power actually wear the rotors down faster.

Because of the intense heat that can build up on brake components, Orangestuff™ brake pads are meant to be used only on high-performance brake calipers with multiple pistons that release faster and more completely with less drag. During EBC tests on a dynamometer where a full 1G of stopping force was applied repeatedly, Orangestuff™ pads survived sustained operation at temperatures of 1,800 degrees Fahrenheit without chipping, cracking, or coming apart. During the dyno test, rotor surfaces were literally glowing red and while the performance of the Orangestuff™ pads dropped slightly under these conditions, the majority of their effectiveness remained. Instead of using rivets to secure pad material and backing plates together, Orangestuff™ pads use an additional chemical layer between the two in order to form a strong bond that provides three times the resistance of pad separation or shear. Four balancing weights built in to the backing plates of the pads ensure high-frequency vibration is cancelled out to eliminate squealing noise.

Best Quality
This is my second set for this truck. First ones were ruined by improper installation. These run true and fit just as well as the oem. I've run EBC brake pads on all my motorcycles, and never had an issue

Perfect Fit for 1973 F100
These pads and rotors were a great fit for my 73 F100 truck. I've used EBC products before and was very pleased with them. The rotors look really good and so do the pads. Quick and timely shipping as well. I've used CARiID a few times and have always been treated good. Would definitely recommend.

Stops Well, But Wears Too Fast
These will definitely stop you. I have zero complaints about their performance. However, I am already replacing them after 14k miles of mostly highway driving.

High Performance Parts.
Guy above is an idiot. Doesn't even know what he bought. These are close to racing pads you can get being streetable. If you read any description or watch any review they clearly indicate the use and the trade-offs. Guy above describes exactly what the manufacturer mentions. Lots of dust, noisy until up to temperature which is very high and hot for Street use. But on the track and your brakes are up the temperature they perform exactly as they should which is excellent. Guess he didn't know what be bought. These do what they describe. EBC is a know performance part manufacturer and I would have gone for a less aggressive pad with this car. Green or redstuff for street use. Know your products before you post lousy one star reviews for EBC brakes which everyone knows are fantastic. I only wish I could afford them more often.

Fantastic!
These brakes are insane over factory and the difference is night and day. Break-in period is a little rough, but if you drive daily over long distances they will be just fine. They create a LOT of dust, but if that does not bother you they are well worth it. The EBC pads do not reuse the OEM wishbone retainer, however I have not noticed a difference in pedal feel. Other than that I will be purchasing a set for my rear brakes once those are due.

Expected Better Quality
Pads are great, but the rotors warped really fast. Expected alot more for the money I spent. It's a Buick LeSabre that I use as a work car no reason these rotors should warp with regular driving.

18 Months Later
Over the 18 months the brakes became rough and very noisy. They were also VERY dusty. They are now completely shot. I'm not sure of the mileage when I installed them, but I'm sure that I have less than 25.000 miles with mostly highway driving on these brakes. I no longer recommend them.

Quite Satisfied, Great Value
Solid product with 90% of what you need for the job, these rotors are very well machined and EXTREMELY beefy. Each one weighs as much as 2 of my old stock rotors, both front and back. The brake pads are slightly thicker and I did actually notice less dust that my previous BOSCH set. No squeeking or slipping, no vibration whatsoever which is great news. these aren't "performance" brakes but short of a full track day, these are more than you'll ever probably need. I am completely satisfied and will certainly buy again. 2 things to note before you buy: 1. This kit DOES NOT come with hardware. You will need to purchase the caliper clips and pins separately as well as the silicone lubricant if you don't already have it. The E-Brake shoes/hardware are also not included but I expected that - just a heads up. 2. The corrosion resistant coating is more of an afterthought rather than a component. I expected some sort of plated or powder coated rotor body but it seems to just be thin ablative coating. I live in New England so these things still started rusting after a month of getting salt washed and sand blasted on the roads...not a big deal since I have a can of POR15 on hand to just lightly paint the non contact surfaces with. But do be aware of that.

Looks Good, Performs Poor
I gave it two stars only because it looks good on my vehicle. But it produces lots of brake dust, after a month of daily driving it still makes a squeaking noise that the manufacturer said would go away after about 500 miles. I have also rechecked the installation twice for any irregularities. I have not noticed any significant improvement in braking. I have had better results and less complications with less expensive brands. I am disappointed in the overall performance.
