Cardone Reman Remanufactured Steering Gears are the component within a car’s steering system that guides the wheel’s movement in conjunction with the direction that the steering wheel is rotated, helping achieve ideal steering response for more efficient driving. The micro-finished surfaces of it's shafts are precision-designed to provide a smoother drive, while the factory-set Pitman shaft transmits the motion it receives from the gear box by moving the wheels left or right to turn the wheels. OEM grade O-rings and seals are used and meet required specifications, providing you a quality product both you and your vehicle can rely on.

    Worked Well on My Project Car
    I chose Cardone because of its reputation. The box fit well, no problems with the install. Steering feels much tighter and more controlled than before. I really appreciate the quality of re-manufacturing, especially for this price point.

    Works as Expected
    I installed this on my Firebird. It bolted right in, no issues here. It doesn't feel quite as tight as a new one, but for a reman unit, it's doing the job just fine.

    Steering Gear Box
    I received the gear box very promptly, after inspecting it we noticed the splines for the steering shaft knuckle was chewed up. I decided to go with a local one so if there is a problem, I can deal with it right away.
