MagnaFlow® - MagnaFlow Series™ Stainless Steel Cat-Back Exhaust System with Dual Side Exit

A few problems with band clamps not holding like they should. Muffler would rotate even when the clamp was fully tight, tacked welded two sides. Left side passenger outlet tube ended up very close to spare tire, still cleared. Removing old Flowmaster system and installing the new Magnaflow took about 11/2 hours on a truck lift/rack. Over all the stainless system ended up looking good. Now the sound! At idle low deep mellow sound. Light normal throttle, again deep mellow sound only louder. Will not brother neighbors. When hammered holy smokes, they know your coming. One problem with sound is at 63+ MPH a loud low pitched drone starts and stays. Solved the problem with stainless steel 6 inch round resonator, welded in. Remember this, all stainless steel metal is not the same, good, better, and best. Make sure the warranty states, life time warranty, not limited life time warranty. Just be sure! My aluminized Flowmaster lasted six years and were falling apart piece by piece., have pictures. Flowmaster warranty 3yrs. Bottom line the Magnaflow exhaust system looks good, including the stainless steel. Price is high, again warranty and stainless steel material makes the difference. Installed this exhaust myself in under two hours. The sound is perfect, not too loud but definitely more aggressive than stock, you can definitely hear it when you step on the gas.

This is a very high quality Exhaust System for our trucks. Easy to install and the sound is great.

System looked high quality, sound is what I wanted, which was a lower tone but not much louder. After installation, I had a vibration/rattle and I blamed the installer. I looked at it and found that when using factory rubber isolators the exhaust was tucked up too tight to the bottom of the car. The tips were actually pinned up against the plastic bumper, causing a rattle. I purchased 4 aftermarket adjustable isolators and dropped the pipes about 1/2 inch and now everything is perfect.

If you are looking to make your truck sound far better than anyone else's...go with these.

If you're a fan of soul crushing drone at any speed you're going to love it. I couldn't be more disappointed in this purchase, fit and finish is fine but the drone is making it hard to even drive my truck and I'm seriously considering replacing it.

I have a 2015 Xterra Pro 4 X with aftermarket bumpers, and skid plates underneath. Was concerned about the fit but it worked without removing anything. I had to drop the pipe to round out part of the rear bumper but it’s not stock so idk if that’s normally the case. I recommend spraying the Cat-Back bolts once every day for a few days prior to removal. That really helped. I also picked up 4 new nuts ($4 ea) and 2 new metal crush washers ($20 ea) from the dealer ahead of time. My vehicle is lifted so crawling under wasn’t too bad. Had to sawzall the old one out and remove 2 of the three hangers. The cats were a little wide for the new exhaust so I had to pull them together as I fit the new exhaust over both flanges. Maybe they just relaxed when I removed the old but I had a mini panic attack for a minute. I would say overall the fit was great. Someone did their homework. The sound is pretty quiet actually but it has a great tone. My other option was the aFe. I read poor reviews on the fit (specifically misaligned hangars). I own a welder but didn’t feel like going through the brain damage. The tone on the aFe was too loud by most accounts and I couldn’t tell much from YouTube audio clips. Also I wanted to keep the pipe as close to original since I’ve read that some backpressure is needed for lower rpm power. The aFe has a 3” whereas the Magnaflow has a 2.5”. Stock is 2.25”. This mod was done with a K&N 63 model and a JET MAF. They were all done within a couple of weeks and tested separately. The K&N was meh. The JET MAF was noticeable especially at lower rpm. The exhaust was the final touch. It moves out now. Not much difference from stock as far as “loud” but has a noticeable tone change. If you want to sound like a Civic with a coffee can and you like an installation challenge then maybe aFe is for you. Not trying to knock aFe since TRUCKiD sells that as well. This review was about the product not TRUCKiD but I will give a shout out to Cody. He talked me into the MAF and the exhaust. I had already purchased the K&N before talking to Cody. Had to order straight from K&N since TRUCKiD wouldn’t ship to CO. Maybe they thought I said Cali. Overall, TRUCKiD came through albeit a little rocky at first. I would purchase from them again. Just the sound i wanted and even better on the throttle. The Grand Cherokee 3.6 liter pentastar engine needs this exhaust system. MagnaFlow you go boy!
