Dodge Durango 2011, 3" Round Side Bars by Aries®, 1 Pair. The Side Bars complement the style of compact and mid-size SUVs, CUVs and trucks. The bars feature custom no-slip step pads for sure footing, making entry and exit very safe and easy. Fitting these elegant side bars to your vehicle makes it much more practical, stylish and enjoyable.

Installation

Aries® - 3" Polished Round Side Bars Installation Instruction

The 3" Side Bars not only make your SUV, CUV or truck more convenient to use. They also add a great look. The 3" tubing fits the scale of compact and mid-sized vehicles, and they are set at a height that is precisely determined to be the most convenient for exit and entry. Custom no-slip step pads provide sure footing and a welcoming styling accent. The 3" Side Bars are both practical and stylish.

3" side bars are made from steel and come in 304 polished stainless steel or semi-gloss black powder coat carbon steel. 304 stainless steel is a true stainless with high nickel content, offering better corrosion resistance and a long-lasting finish. To give carbon steel side bars an added edge, each unit goes through an E-coat process, before receiving its black powder coat, to strengthen and protect the final finish against peeling, chipping and scratching.

3" round side bars come with carbon steel brackets and an anti-skid step pad. The mounting brackets are strong and custom-designed for specific makes and models to allow the side bar to contour to the lines of your vehicle. They feature a no-drill application for easy installation and offer the strength necessary to provide sound footing. The Aries 3" round side bar also comes with a non-skid step pad made of polypropylene. This wide step pad features a textured pattern and covers a wide portion of the rail to be more comfortable and easier to stand on.

Rails
Needed a great looking side rails for my new Dodge Durango. Once I layed out all the parts and got started, everything fell into place; and once bolted together, these steps work very well and look amazingly good.

Rusted Out Front bracket to Side Bar Bolt Holes
So, now after 7 years, ((see review by Jerry from Manassas, VA) the front bracket to side bar bolt holes are both corroded. My tire shop discovered it and ended up zip tying them to keep them from falling and creating an accident. I have since removed both side bars. I have side bars in my 2017 Tundra and they are still in good shape. So Aries is only good for 7 years!!

They Work
The rear mounting points mean the leaf springs don't slap these on the rebound like they did with the bars these replaced. But the instructions could have been more detailed. The rear mounting plate has 2 mounting holes for the spring bolt. Upper is for 4x2. Lower is for 4x4. Torque values (GM specified) are 70 ft.-lb. for the spring nuts, and 55 ft.-lb. for the forward body bolts. You should probably omit the lock washers they provide for the body bolts, because those can't seem to handle that torque.

Terrible Product
Had Aries running boards installed summer of 2020 8 months later plastic on driver side breaks off. They replaced piece but now it’s broke again. The kicker is that both pieces on passenger side completely broke off this July. Too bad out of warranty. Never buy again and do not recommend.

Stable and Look Nice. Great Value. Installed on a 1993 K2500 Chevy Suburban
Bought for an older suburban with AC in the back. It really is hard to find compatible bars or boards, that work around the exterior AC tubes, for these old Suburbans so I felt compelled to write a review. Yes, these work. Your search is over. Good price and expected simple finish. Perfect for an older truck. The install directions shipped with the product are absolute garbage. Pay attention to the front mounting brackets, they do not install the way you would logically think they do. The bar does not go inside the circular mounting cup. The mounting brackets are universal, so maybe the bar goes inside the cup on another truck, but not an old Chevy. Call Aries directly if you need help installing. Their customer service is great!
