APG® - 6" H Series Running Boards

These are sweet boards, easy to install, sturdy and look good. I purchased because they fit my budget on what I wanted to pay for running boards. The installation instructions could use a little help and there were minimal videos on the internet, so I made this quick one, maybe it will help someone with their install. These boards look great but pretty positive they will rust out and fall apart rather quickly. Someone hit my truck and ruined one of my running boards which look almost identical to these so I bought these as I couldn’t find my originals. So I removed the old running boards and went to install these and they felt light as a feather, so I picked up an old one and one of these new boards and these are literally 1/3rd the weight just cheap stamped junk and after shipping these were 300 my originals 250 and I guarantee these could’nt cost 50 bucks to make they’re that cheap!

I like the style of the step, it's lightweight. I put it on a 2022 Ram 2500. Shipping was really fast. But you pay for what you get, it's a budget step the bolts that hold the steps to the bracket are tiny and will break with a little tap. the front drivers side mounting bracket junk, but it's because RAM made that 1 mounting point completely different and all the others the same. There is no adjustment to the steps because the brackets limitations. I wouldn't buy this again.

These were easy to install and look great. Especially like the 6" wide. Makes it nice when wet to know you have a solid step for your foot. It does seem the chrome on the edge scratches easy when your shoe rubs across when getting in and out. Maybe the solid black ones would be better for this issue. Have to wait and see how that develops. Overall pleased with price and product, but just installed so need to see how they endure through the years.

The running boards were well packaged and came with an abundance of hardware in individual baggies to cover multiple methods of installation. Unfortunately, none of the baggies are labeled so you have to parse through it all and compare it to the parts list to identify what you need for your installation. While everything I needed was included some of the bolts were much longer than necessary and the main bolts provided for attachment to the truck came in 2 lengths neither of which where called for in the instructions. It all worked out but allow time to organize what you need before you start the install. The boards are nice a solid but I give it 3 stars due to the fitment. I have a 2020 Ram 2500 crew cab and while they fit without drilling, there is no adjustment forward or back because the front and rear taper on the boards butt up against the front and rear brackets. But what is worse is that they do not sit at an even height along the body. The front sits about 3/4" down from the body where the rear sits at a tight 1/4". The rear height looks much better as it hides the weld seam on the rocker panel. I like the width and how the black and chrome on the boards go with the black and chrome on the mirrors, and it certainly makes it easier to get in and out of the truck. However, I don't know that I would recommend them until APS can change the design of the brackets to allow for some adjustment forward and back and to even out the height.

I have no idea why these boards are listed as APG product when it is actually an APS iboard and there is no rubber step pad as advertised, but boards look like the picture, they're not made in the USA and I found the 50 dollars shipping charge from TRUCKiD to be outrageous. Considering it took six days to arrive. With that being said the boards arrived in excellent condition and proved to be a very simple install I was concerned about the fitment of the boards being too far away or hanging to low from the rocker panel but to my surprise they fit nice and close to the rocker panel for a appealing clean look. The boards can be slid out word so you have more of a foot pad or can be slid in word. So you cannot see the mounting brackets very much at all and still have enough board to assist yourself in and out of the truck, I have a 2020 Ram 1500 quad cab granite crystal paint with black grill and bumpers Black door handles and black wheels, but all the badges like the 1500 Hemi on the hood the RAM logo on the grill and door bottoms and the Ram head on tail gate are all chrome looking so the polished aluminum on the side of the running boards gives it just a splash of chrome look to match and with the black painted tops. They look awesome, I found the boards to be sturdy and functional with proper maintenance should last awhile and save you a couple hundred bucks from the higher priced competitors.

Product arrived and looked great and to my surprise they looked just like what I ordered. Installation was pretty good had to make some minor adjustments but other than that all was well.

These running boards were really easy to install and look great.

Everything about it looks good, the only thing is the instructions need better illustration pictures and the brackets need to be labeled left and right to make the installation easier

On a good note: They look classy. I only wish I knew before spending the money on these and spending the money on labor that I would be having a hard time transitioning from the street to some businesses. It is like having a low rider. It scrapes hard. They should have either said it would happen in the description or sent different brackets. Also it really loads up with snow and we haven't had that much snow here where I live. (YET) I have a handicapped individual that I transport at times that has a hard time getting in and getting out of the truck and this is the reason I made this purchase. NOT blaming the company that sold this because it is a manufacture's obligation to make sure of problems like this BEFORE selling them to anyone who owns this vehicle.
