Westin® - HDX Grille Guard

Beautiful excellent quality.

This is by far the best grille guard I ever purchased. Been buying guards for my trucks since the 70's. The guard is really extra heavy duty and looks great. Looks like it was custom made for my black 2014 Toyota Tundra 4x4. The discounted price made it even a better purchase. It mounted on the truck very easily and fits like a glove. Took about two hours but you definitely need help due the the weight of the guard. You will have to remove the extra large tow hooks on the front end but well worth it for the protection you will get from this guard. We have a lot of deer between Del Rio and my ranch at Langtry. I feel that my truck is protected very well with this guard. Many vehicles get destroyed every year out here due the the accidental impact with deer. Those light duty guards are just for looks. You can not go wrong with this Westin on the 2014 and 2015 Tundra.

This is one heavy duty grill, and oh is all that stainless steel Perry on a black truck. Customer service was outstanding and delivery was very fast. I would most definitely recommend buying this grill. You will not be disappointed.

I wanted protection without an overly industrial look. This grille guard is great, sturdy enough for rough terrain but polished enough for city driving. Had no issues during install.

Check out the installation instructions. Find someone who has hands on experience with the 21 Sierra 1500 and equivalent installation. Some videos indicate a three hour process. Different people at Westin tell different stories regarding retention of tow hooks and cutting of existing body components. Instruction pictures are hard to decipher due to odd angles of the shots and quality of the images. The Chevy grille is much different. Two installers at a regarded custom shop took six hours on mine. Count the cost. I'm happy with the results after installation, and think this is the best out there for the 1/2 ton Sierra. If Ali-Arc or Herd had come up with something I would have gone that route. I think both aren't willing to undertake the mess that GM has made of the design.

The grill guard is first-rate. Installation was a challenge as the instructions said to remove and not replace the tow hooks. However, when we got into it, we had to cut the tow hooks off the mounts and reinstall the mounts as they are necessary to reinstall the front skid plate as the skid plate. Bolts on the tow hook mounts. Also the guard interferes with the front crash sensors when you are going less than 5 MPH and they indicate a forward obstacle. Once you get moving everything works as programmed. I have installed various heavy-duty brush guards on every vehicle I have owned for the last 20 years as I live in deer country and the Westin is as well-built as any I have purchased in the past and looks better than most. I can easily give the guard itself 5 stars, but if there was a separate rating for installation it would rate a 3.

Thank God for YOUTUBE! (directions s*ck). That being said the grill guard is awesome, will not own a truck without one. Living in MT and driving at night lots of critters on the road. Had a Westin grill guard on my last truck and hit a deer at 70 MPH and did minimal damage, cheap insurance, these things are tough.

The grill look great and makes the truck look awesome! The paper directions weren't very good/clear, but you can download the directions which had much clearer pictures. The secondary mounting brackets were a little confusing from the directions themselves, but once I figured this point out the rest went very quickly.

This is the grille guard you have to buy. It is super strong and beefy that looks impressive on your truck. You will get comments from your friends and others on how tough it looks. Great!! Easy to install.

This grille guard fits my 2016 Titan like a glove. It is sturdy and will protect my truck from the plethora of deer we have here in south Alabama. I have nothing but praise for the product. Now, the not so good. The installation experience was miserable. The instructions are accurate, but not detailed enough. I suggest adding a few major steps and several minor ones that will greatly improve the installation experience.
