GM Genuine Parts™ Steering Gear (19434138) by ACDelco®. Steering Gear Kit. GM Genuine Parts Remanufactured Steering Gears are designed, engineered, and tested to rigorous standards, and are backed by General Motors. These gears convert steering wheel rotation into the side-to-side motion needed to steer your vehicle's front wheels. Remanufacturing steering gears is an industry standard practice that involves disassembly of existing units, and replacing components that are most prone to wear and failure with new components. Damaged and obsolete parts are replaced and are end of line tested to ensure they perform to GM specifications. In addition, remanufacturing helps return components back into service rather than processing as scrap or simply disposing of them.

Perfect!!

I do not normally do reviews, but will on this one. This was my first order with this company. What a GREAT experience dealing with this company. Ordered this part, received it in just a matter of days and it was exactly as promised. There was a core charge involved with this part. I have had issues with other companies actually getting a refund once I have returned the core to them. With this company, the core was credited back to my card within 48 hours of them receiving my part. Great experience will order with confidence from them in the future.

Power Steering Seal Kit

The seal kit was not the proper one for the power steering, but they refunded me for the part and the shipping very happy with the company.

Steering Box

Looks fine, instillation took longer than it should have due to having to find the appropriate tap to clean out the threads in the housing. Found this out after having started instillation and the threaded holes were flattening the threads on the bolt. Got passed that, installed it again, recharged the steering pump with fluid, purged the air in the system topped it off and discovered that the seal on the steering column input shaft leaks! Hope they will replace it.

Reman Power Steering Gear Box

The product improved the steering function (tie rod ends and support arm were also replaced) but did not regain 100% of original steering response, nothing else left to replace.
