Camshaft Angle Sensor Trigger Disk by AEM Performance Electronics®. This Cam Angle Sensor Disk is for Nissan SR20DET 2.0L and KA24DE 2.4L engines. It should be used if you have an aftermarket Engine Management System or Series 1 AEM EMS, and you are having “sync” problems. New Series 2 EMS kits included this disc. This disc is a direct replacement for the factory CAS disc, and the center of the disc should look exactly like the stock one in your distributor. Be sure to match the “hubs” of your CAS disk to this one before ordering.
The CAS provides camshaft position information to the Engine Control Module (ECM) so it can determine ignition spark and fuel injection timing. This trigger disc is used with an LED light and a phototransistor. As the disc turns, it breaks the light beam, causing the phototransistor to ground the wire from the ECM, which the ECM interprets as a position signal.
This particular trigger disc should be used if you have an aftermarket EMS or an AEM Series 1 EMS and you are having “sync” problems. It’s a direct replacement for the factory CAS disc and the same as the one that comes in new Series 2 AEM EMS kits. The center of the disc should look exactly like the stock one in your distributor. Be sure to match the “hubs” of your CAS disc to this one before ordering.
