EGR Cooler Gasket Kit by aFe®. You'll need this gasket set to install the EGR cooler in your 6.0 Ford diesel, whether it's to reinstall the factory cooler or to upgrade to aFe's heavy-duty cooler.
The EGR cooler on 6.0 diesel engines eventually fails, leaking coolant into the intake, which turns to that dreaded white smoke from the exhaust. Performance suffers, you need to keep replenishing coolant and your truck runs poorly. That's until the EGR cooler fails a little more, and a rush of liquid coolant gets sucked into a cylinder. Air is compressible, coolant isn't: the result is a sudden stop when the piston tries to compress that spoonful of coolant into a half-spoonful of combustion chamber at Top Dead Center. And that will probably destroy your entire engine instantly.
Instead of replacing that failure-prone Ford part yet again, (Some owners have reported multiple replacements) change to the aFe BladeRunner EGR cooler. With double the wall thickness in the coolant tubes and 100% TIG-welded (not brazed) construction.
