    Product Details

    Sprint Booster™ V3 Power Converter by aFe®. Automobiles in the 21st century have replaced the more conventional throttle cable technology for an ECM (Electronic Control Module) that translates pedal travel into electronic signals in order to provide power to the wheels. The ETC system (Electronic Throttle Control) – also known as drive-by-wire – has the unfortunate downside of delayed throttle response and subdued acceleration, creating problems in certain circumstances such as up-hill starts, quick gearchanges, overtaking, etc. The Sprint Booster aims to overcome this throttle response delay for ETC-equipped vehicles, providing crisp on-tap acceleration at the driver’s disposal.

    Installation

    Simple plug and play Installation

    For vehicles with electronic control (ETC) systems, or drive by wire, this device plugs into the OE connector located behind the accelerator pedal. It is a simple installation, requiring no cutting of any wires or intervene in the automobile’s electronics (it does not affect other systems such as electronic injection, ABS, etc.

    Three acceleration modes

    OFF MODE – Sprint Booster is deactivated. The response of the car has the factory settings. The LED of the Selector switch is OFF. SPORT MODE – Sprint Booster provides improved response up to 30%.The LED of the selector switch in Sport mode is Green. RACE MODE – Sprint Booster provides improved response up to 60%. The LED of the selector switch in Race mode is Red. The modes are switching by pressing the main button (black chromed button with log).

    36 Accelerations programs

    Each Acceleration mode comes with 9 programs / steps, Select 1-9 in SPORT mode (Green light) and 1-9 in RACE mode (Red light) with '1' being the least aggressive program and '9' the most aggressive one. The Acceleration programs are switching by pressing the 2 arrow buttons on the top (left to decrease and right to increase). By selecting the desired acceleration program in each mode the driver can fine-tune each mode according his driving style (eg select SPORT -9 & RACE-5).

    Works for both automatic and manual transmission

    Sprint Booster modes and programs, are transmission type specific for better function and performance. The driver can select the type of his vehicle transmission through a slide switch located on the right side of the selector switch. The device will automatically adjust the programs according the type of transmission selected. There are 36 programs in total (18 for manual transmission & 18 for automatic transmission).

    Valet and pedal lock modes

    Valet mode limits the acceleration of the vehicle by 55 % - 65% - 75% (comes in 3 selectable levels). It is activated/deactivated through a 3 digit PIN. By limiting the acceleration there will be a significant reduce in vehicle's performance (Power and Torque). The Pedal Lock mode provides extra protection against unauthorized vehicle use. The driver can deactivate the acceleration ability of the vehicle through a 3 digit PIN. The menu for VALET & PEDAL LOCK MODE is accessed when the vehicle is stationary and in OFF MODE by pressing the 2 arrow buttons simultaneously.

    Better Drivability

    In addition to the increased throttle response and the improved acceleration, there is also a noticeable difference in the transmission shifts (for vehicles equipped with Automatic transmissions). It also improves response for downshifts and safer overtaking.

    Good While It Lasted
    Worked great for 13 months. It caused a malfunction in the throttle body electronics and gas pedal wouldn't work. Removed the booster and had parts replaced. Live and learn.

    Huge Difference
    I put this on my wife’s 2018 4Runner. The factory pedal response was terrible. The converter made a big difference. No increase in actual power, but the response from the gas pedal is great. We tried different settings and we’ve got it on Sport 9 for now. Installation was about 20 min including the 10 min recommended wait time after you remove the ignition key. Only had it on for 4 days so far, so I can’t say how it will hold up. So far so good! Very pleased!

    Don't Waste the Money!
    Do not waste your money, it does absolutely nothing as far as performance! I ran 2 quarter mile pulls, 1 with it off and 1 with it on, there was no change in anything!

    Great Product So Far
    Just FYI, the picture of this thing makes it look like its a big handheld thing, but when you get it out of the box, you are holding a 1in by 2in selector switch. Other than that, it's good! A real bitch to install if you have big hands!

    Power Booster
    Perfect tuner for my ecoboost. It is easy to install and quite simple to use. Like its Orange mode the most. Although this tuner is a little pricey for me I don't regret I bought it.

    Ford F-350 6.7L Diesel
    Truck: 2017 Ford F-350 6.7L Diesel. Truck is heavily used. Easy install. You get what is pictured. I purchased it for two reasons 1. To deal with any codes from cold air intake and aftermarket exhaust. 2. To boost hp for the heavy loads. Currently truck computer and AFE tuner have a moody relationship. Mass Air code comes and goes. I can't see much change in hp, but I do leave it in tow mod only. It would probably work better if certain emission controls were taken off the truck. Of course we must not do such things and upset DOT man.
