Body Armor 4x4® FD-4200 - Rockcrawler Black Side Bars

Like the product overall. In my opinion over priced so if doing it again would shop for cheaper alternative. Was easy install - once you figure out the instructions. (instructions need work). Poorly written and for multiple types of vehicles. You need 2 people to install unless you have a nice floor jack. 4 bolts required were missing for the install. No joke. I was pissed had to make a trip to a real hardware store to get them. Home Depot does not carry. Not happy about that and would like reimbursement which added to the price when you do not have time to jack around with vendor etc. to get them. These are pretty heavy bars which is what you want if buying or else buy something else 45 lbs/90 or both so adds to your gas mileage.

Overall very happy with the product quality and the way it looks installed on my 2016 Tacoma. The only thing I don't like is how the product has to be installed. The brackets that come with the steps have two slots to mount to the steps. The steps have 2 pre-drilled/tapped holes for the bolts to go into. The problem is the holes are way too close together and its impossible to get a box end wrench or socket on the second bolt after the first one is tight. I was barely able to get an open end wrench on the second bolt to tighten it. Also the brackets that mount to the truck are good for the middle and rear mount points, but the front point only allows for 1 bolt to be installed.

The product is amazing and very well build. The wife loves them on her new Jeep Wrangler Unlimited.

Excellent quality metal. Quick it install. Recommend having two people install them, they have some weight to them. Very low profile. Delivery was quick.

I could tell these steps are well built as soon as I touched them, they provide a look like no other step can. I am very pleased with my purchase. If I were to pick a negative about them it would be their packaging, the first set of steps showed up in a badly beaten cardboard box at one end the steps were hanging out and their were large chips in the powder coating exposing bare metal... I sent them back, the second set arrived same crappy packaging but only small chips so instead of waiting for yet another set to arrive I simply touched up the bare metal with some rustoleum truck bed liner spray. It took 2 people to hold the steps in place while I bolted them on, they are heavy but once installed they look fantastic! total install time was about an hour, I am not a mechanic or have a mechanical background just a guy who knows how to use a ratchet wrench, I'd say pretty much anyone who can turn a screw can install these with some helpers holding the steps in place.

My husband bought these for my FJ. I have physical disabilities and need an extra step to get into my FJ and these fit the bill. They are perfect!!! They look awesome, shipping was fast, overall very Happy!
