Product Details
Fuel Pump Strainer (STS-74) by Carter®. This fuel pump strainer provides superior protection by catching contamination found in today's fuels. The gradient density design incorporates three layers of material that are self-cleaning on the outside, offering optimum dirt-holding capacity without impending fuel flow.
A fuel pump strainer restricts contaminants and prevents them from getting into the pump's mechanism. This component is considered an insurance policy for the pump and should be serviced every time the pump is replaced and at service intervals specified by the manufacturer. A clogged strainer dramatically reduces fuel flow, which leads to driveability issues. Technicians often assume that the root problem is the fuel pump, not the strainer, which leads to a repeat contamination problem and clogging issue. Replacing old fuel strainers helps ensure that there is no contamination in the fuel supply.
