With a polished metal finish, the Universal Wheel Well Brite Diamond-Tread Aluminum Tool Box is designed to mount atop the wheel well hump in your pickup bed area to provide convenient, lockable storage. If you do not find yourself carrying 4 x 8 panels on top of your wheel wells, maximize that otherwise wasted space by mounting this box behind the passenger side hump. Aluminum construction ensures freedom from corrosion, and because Dee Zee believes a tool box built to last a long time should also continue to look good, textured diamond tread aluminum surfaces are finished with a protective layer of clear powder coat to prevent scratches, chips, and discolorations.

The Universal Wheel Well Brite Diamond-Tread Aluminum Tool Box is convenient to use. Instead of two separate folding hinges that can bind when lids are pulled quickly from one side, a long piano type hinge makes for fuss-free opening with no binding. And when the lid is shut, an effective gasket seals out moisture while it eliminate rattle and vibration noises from the lid.

Warranty Coverage – Component Parts

Operational items such as shocks, latches, keys, hinges, and wear items including, but not limited to, mud flaps, step pads, end caps, hardware, seals, etc. have a 1-Year Warranty. Warranty does not include electrical components, light bulb replacement, and cost of removal, installation, labor, transportation costs, and loss of use, inconvenience or consequential damages.

Warranty Coverage – Finish Protection

The finish of all Dee Zee products is covered for 1 year from the date of purchase. Dee Zee products have a high-quality finish that must be cared for and maintained like any other exposed finish on the vehicle. Protect the finish with non-abrasive automotive wax (e.g. Pure Carnauba) on a regular basis. Applying soaps, polishes, or waxes that contain an abrasive compound may scratch the finish and leave the exposed material susceptible to corrosion.

Warranty Submission Procedure

All warranty claims will be initiated at the place of purchase. The original purchaser will be required to present the original sales receipt with purchase date shown and provide photographs of the defect.

In the event the originally purchased product style is no longer available, Dee Zee will warranty the defective part with a current equivalent.

Flimsy

Flimsy built. Don't put anything on the lid of it will bend. The lid is so flimsy. I have to got to the other side and push it closed. Never again.

It's a Good Box

I've had this box for 2 years now, it is still working as intended. On hot sunny days don't leave the lid open because it will deform. Good news is that it usually goes back with no effort provided that it's still sunny. Due to me leaving it open on several occasions I had to file the latches to make a smoother ramp for the lock to keep functioning. No one has tried breaking into it yet, but if they do at least your not out a grand from them prying your nice aluminum box. For the price it does the job, it would be 5 stars if it had some reinforcement on the lid to prevent it from deforming.

Interferance Fit

This was not a good choice for my application. It wastes too much space in the bed. There is too much space between the box and the bed wall when mounted.

Dee Zee Side Box

I bought one almost a year ago and love it. I bought a higher priced one from Cabela's for the other side of my bed and because it was on sale about 4 months, but it sucks and leaks, looks like better quality but Dee Zee is better and cheaper, will be buying another one to replace the one from Cabela's .

Good for the Price.

It is as advertised. Tough plastic design. Small (as in narrow) but good storage for tools & emergency kit items. Easy to install; I was able to DIY in about 90 minutes. I did have issues with the lock, but was able to resolve that by forcing lock latch a nth of an inch beyond the "locked" position. Good product. I would recommend it. Sandi
