Product Details
Universal Tank Vented Cap with Neck (DZGASCAP) by Dee Zee®. This is an original Dee Zee equipment replacement cap to match original equipment used on all liquid transfer tanks. A built in hole in the cap and a check valve in the neck assembly allow venting of vapor pressure when needed. Not recommended for use with biodiesel fuels.
Dee Zee fuel transfer tanks are designed to carry non-flammable fuels and other liquid items in the safest and most stable fashion. In order to do so, changing pressures inside the tank must be accounted for in order to avoid blowout when vapor pressure and temperatures inside the tank increase due to sloshing or sunlight exposure. Likewise, when outside temperatures drop or the tank is filled with hot liquids that cool and shrink to create a vacuum, air will need to enter the tank to maintain safe, equalized pressures within. An effective pressure cap allows air flow when needed to ensure safety, low metal stress, and longevity of the tank itself.
Should you need to replace your original equipment cap, Dee Zee’s Vented Cap with Neck features the exact same design and construction as original equipment from the factory. The cap is designed with a round vent hole that works in conjunction with a check valve inside the threaded neck assembly. To ensure humidity and moisture do not enter the tank, the check valve is closed under normal conditions. Should pressure differences become excessive, the check valve will open allowing a regulated, safe release of pressure until things become equalized. The cap is available by itself, or with the threaded neck assembly which contains the check valve.
