If you manage or service a fleet of waste collection trucks or other heavy-duty vehicles subjected to daily stop-and-go routines, you know that continuously operating engines at low speeds wreaks havoc on exhaust gas aftertreatment systems. Your engines rarely, if ever, reach the heat levels necessary for passive regens, inevitably causing diesel particulate filter (DPF) clogging, warning lights, profit-draining parked regens and ultimately, costly aftertreatment system repairs. This compressed air desiccant dryer repair kit can increase truck uptime, reduce maintenance costs, and extend the life of aftertreatment components by thoroughly drying moisture-laden compressed air before it can damage the diesel fuel injector driver module during atomization. Designed for installation just ahead of the DPF assembly on Mack LEU and MRU 2013-08 trucks, this retrofit uses the same widely available desiccant cartridges used in an air brake dryer system, and like that system, adds a highly effective water extraction step that protects against expensive failures and repairs.
