Product Details

Universal Class 4 2" Drop / 1" Rise Ball Mount for 2" Receivers (40381) by Draw-Tite®. Shank Length: 9-7/8". Weight Capacity: 8000 lbs GTW / 800 lbs TW. Ball Hole: 1". These ball mounts fit an industry-standard receiver hitch mount. Simply choose the correct-rated and correct-sized ball to match. Designed utilizing the latest technology, this product by Draw-Tite features premium quality and will perform better than advertised. Perfect for your vehicle and lifestyle, it is manufactured to meet or exceed stringent industry standards.

You'll need to choose your ball mount carefully. The most important consideration is the weight of the trailer you'll be towing, followed closely by the GTW (Gross Towing Weight) of your tow vehicle. Be certain that every single component – receiver, ball mount, and ball – on your vehicle is rated to tow the biggest trailer you'll ever tow. (Don't forget that odds are, eventually someone is going to ask you to tow their trailer, not yours. Their big, heavy trailer.) We recommend rating the ball mount and ball to match the maximum towing capacity of your vehicle, not the weight of the trailer you want to tow today.

Choose a ball mount that will make your trailer as level as possible when the hitch is coupled. You may need a mount with some drop or rise, depending on the trailer and tow vehicle's relative heights. Don't forget to account for the tow vehicle squatting when it takes the weight of the trailer on the hitch.

Remember to keep the ball mount as short as feasible, because the further the ball is behind the rear axle, the more the trailer will steer the tow vehicle on a windy day. Also, the further back the ball is, the more the tongue weight of the trailer will push down your rear suspension.

TRUCKiD Receiver
The receiver looks and works good for the trailer that I pull. The aluminum will only pull up to 8,000 pounds. My truck pulls up to 10,000 pounds. Will have to change trailer hitches for bigger payloads.

Nice Product for the Price
All good and as advertised, except for the latch. If the door cannot close shut, then parts will scatter, and that's not good. I really like the locking pin, makes it tough to steal.

Good Bang For Your Buck!
I'm happy with the fact that this item is solid steel. Also like that when it's installed, it doesn't stick out for a mile beyond the bumper. I haven't busted my shins yet.

Forged Ball Moun
This was a very well constructed ball mount. It is a solid piece of metal extremely heavy. I was very pleased with the way it was made. If you are looking for a good ball mount to use with pulling a heavy travel trailer this is it.

Aluminum Ball Moun
This was exactly what I wanted and I am very pleased. It fits the hitch assembly correctly and does what it should. It is not something to have to worry about when using a hitch and towing a trailer.
