Flowmaster mufflers differ in technology and tuning, and thus in tone and character, to give your performance engine a sound to your personal liking. This is what Flowmaster calls giving you “The Power of Choice.”
Flowmaster race mufflers employ two unique and patented technologies developed by the company; Delta Flow™ and Laminar Flow™. They give different characters of sound and can be tuned to achieve the desired exhaust note. Flowmaster Exhaust System Technology is so versatile, and gives such a high degree of control, that it is used both by racers, who want maximum power, and by the U.S. Air Force in Stealth applications where maximum silence and minimum heat emissions are prime considerations. No matter what you are racing, Flowmaster always has the right muffler for you.
The original Flowmaster technology was born on the racetrack over 25 years ago. There was urgent need for a sound solution for Sprint car racing at local California fairground events. Their sound level of the Sprint cars was deemed too high and the continuation of the racing was threatened by protests over the excessive noise. Flowmaster founder Ray Flugger invented and patented a new and innovative technology that not only resolved the excessive sound issues of these high-powered racecars, but also increased maximum horsepower and provided an increased and broader torque curve - an unheard of byproduct from competitive mufflers in use at the time.
The highly devoted R&D department of Flowmaster Inc. actively searches for new challenges to resolve, and is constantly working with leading race teams, engine builders and race organizations in the quest to improve and develop new technologies. Flowmaster’s developers are focused on developing greener, more positive solutions to keep racing safe for all participants, fans and neighbors, while achieving the ultimate goal...Winning! No other muffler company has dominated racetracks around the world like Flowmaster has in the past and present. Nor will they in the future. That's the Flowmaster pledge to customers. The company is confident to make that statement, trusting that its developers will constantly produce ground-breaking improvements in muffler technology.
