Remanufactured EGR Valve (522-022) by GB Remanufacturing®. The EGR Valve is an essential part of the system that routes a specific amount of exhaust back to the intake system to reduce NOx emissions. This component is constructed to deliver OE-quality emissions control performance, exact fit, and long-lasting durability.
When fuels are burned at high temperatures, NOx (nitrogen oxide) emissions are produced. To reduce these harmful emissions, Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) system is used, which directs exhaust to the intake system where it is drawn back into the combustion chamber. Routing a portion of exhaust into the intake system reduces the temperature in the combustion chamber, decreasing the amount of nitrogen oxides created. The EGR valve regulates the flow by opening to allow exhaust into the inlet manifold and closing when it is not necessary.
Over time the valve can become clogged, stuck open, or stuck closed, and fail to operate properly. A faulty EGR valve could result in a failed emissions test and affect drivability, causing symptoms such as rough idling, hesitation, etc. If you need an EGR valve to replace a malfunctioning component and don't want to pay a premium for a new part, GB Remanufacturing will provide you with a rebuilt EGR valve that has the same fit, form, and function as the OEM part because it actually is the OEM valve. The technicians at GB reuse the components that don’t wear out, and replace or remanufacture all of the parts that wear or fail, to restore the rebuilt product to a condition that is as good as, or often better than, that of a new original part.
