Grant® 4001 - Black Steering Wheel Spacer Kit

The study of ergonomics shows our bodies and mind can function at their best when we’re physically in a comfortable position with all body parts properly supported. If you find your new steering wheel protrudes too far into your comfort zone or is too far away, Grant® Steering Wheel Spacers let you change the overall length of your steering column to the optimum position. You'll avoid fatigue and pain in arm, shoulder, and back areas that come from limbs being unnaturally contorted. Extension kits add 2 inches of length with a spacer between your steering wheel components and the installation kit. Conversely, a reducer kit is available that replaces the standard sleeve with one that is an inch shorter.

Sometimes more room is needed to ensure proper operation and movement of all steering column components. For example, Grant kits are built to allow a normal 1/8th-inch gap between sections. If there’s a large gap or rubbing (interference) between the post cover and steering column, or if your new steering wheel is too close to the turn signal, wiper, or shift levers, Grant® offers an extension piece that mounts between your installation kit and steering wheel to allow two extra inches of clearance. And if you find your newly installed custom steering wheel protrudes too far back towards your chest, wheel placement can be revised with an available 1-inch spacer that replaces the standard 2-inch sleeve.
