In an air suspension system, solenoid valves mounted on or near each air spring will open to allow the flow of compressed air when electric current creates a magnetic field that pulls a spring-loaded plunger or pivoted armature open. When de-energized, that spring-loaded plunger or armature returns to the closed position automatically.
