Performance Silver™ Oil Filter (PS-2005) by K&N®. K&N Performance Silver Oil Filters have been specially designed for professional installers and service providers. Their high flow design can help to improve engine performance by reducing oil filter restriction. Our Performance Silver Oil Filters have a fluted canister shape so they can be removed with a traditional oil filter wrench commonly available to commercial installers. These Performance Silver oil filters provide outstanding filtration and engine protection throughout their service life. They are engineered to handle all grades of synthetic, conventional and blended motor oils. The pleated media provides high capacity making them suitable for extended oil change intervals when used in accordance with the vehicle and motor oil manufacturers recommendation. K&N Performance Silver Oil Filters are available for canister and cartridge type oil filter applications.
How many times has this happened to you: You’re doing an oil change and the old oil filter won’t budge! Your strap wrench just slips or you don’t have enough room for leverage. Time to drag out the big pliers or pound an old screwdriver through the filter; any way you slice it you’re in for a big mess and skinned knuckles.
Don’t ever let this happen to you again! Insist on the K&N Wrench-Off Canister Oil Filter. The Wrench-Off filter has a 1-in. nut welded to the top of the canister so it can be easily removed with a socket or wrench. But this nut is only the beginning when describing the superiority of this K&N Oil Filter.
The Wrench-Off Canister Oil Filter has thicker canister walls for strength and durability. Thicker walls stand up to rocks and other debris from the outside, and they can withstand a racing engine’s higher oil pressures on the inside without bursting. Your street car engine may never experience such hazards and pressures, but it’s nice to know you have an oil filter tough enough to survive them.
The filtering media in the Wrench-Off filter allows higher flow rates while trapping 99% of harmful contaminants. High flow rates are important for racing vehicles using heavy grade oil, when oil is pumped much faster than in a street engine. Your engine may never use that type of oil or need those flow rates, but it’s nice to know your oil filter has that extra degree of engineering.
As final proof that the K&N Wrench-Off filter is engineered for racing, the 1-in. welded nut has a predrilled hole for attaching safety wire, a requirement in many types of racing to prevent filter loss. You may want the Wrench-Off filter to simplify oil filter removal, but it will also give you peace of mind in between oil changes.
