Product Details

Gas-a-Just™ Series Shocks Absorber by KYB®. Go with Gas-a-Just shocks and struts and experience greater stability, handling, and control over twin-tube designs. Whether your vehicle is originally equipped with a monotube or twin-tube design shock, the Gas-a-Just monotube shock is the perfect choice to upgrade or restore suspension performance.

A lot of us use our vehicle for more than just daily commuting. Many of us pull trailers or transport heavy items, so need more ride control and performance than usual. KYB has a sound solution for all of these driving needs – the Gas-a-Just monotube shock absorber! The name of the shock stands for gas automatic adjust. The Gas-a-Just will outperform the average twin-tube design; it never experiences shock fade and has a unique ability to automatically add performance when it's needed. The Gas-a-Just has two possible purposes. For those vehicles that are already equipped with a high performance monotube design, the Gas-a-Just will serve as a direct replacement to restore the vehicle's originally designed performance. But the Gas-a-Just can also be a great performance upgrade for the vehicles that are equipped with standard twin-tube shocks.

The Gas-a-Just features a larger single working cylinder, so the hydraulic fluid doesn't have to travel far. It's all kept in the upper cylinder so the valving can respond faster. There is also a Nitrogen gas high pressure chamber in the lower section (it is separated from the fluid area by a floating piston and seal). On light vehicle movement, the gas pressure cushions the ride, but when you need performance and there's more aggressive movement, the floating piston is pushed further into the gas chamber which increases gas pressure quickly and provides additional damping force. The Gas-a-Just is a great choice when you want something more than the original design. Whether you just want more responsive handling or perhaps you carry heavier loads than usually, or tow a trailer, the Gas-Just provides more stability and less body roll. So, install a pair of Gas-a-Just Shocks and Struts and experience a firmer ride and additional control.

KYB 54313 Front Shocks for 2002 Ford F-150 4x4 Lariat really are AMAZING
Giving 5 stars for these shocks, service, and overall rating of TRUCKiD. These monotube shocks are so much better than the cheaper twin tube I have been using. A+ is the grade. KYB has a great name in shocks, price was very good, delivery was fast and TRUCKiD really helped with the order. The shocks did come with the hardware packs torn open by the sharp shock top, and parts were missing or rattling around. Ends of boxes were open (torn open). KYB should do a better job of just taping the hardware bag to the shock, and tape the boxes closed. TRUCKiD helped me get the hardware, it did take some time to get the hardware from KYB. Could have gone with Rancho Universal hardware pack, but I am pleased with the prompt shipping by TRUCKiD to get this needed hardware to me. Going to give 10 Stars for helping out. Thank You. Those who have a full sized truck that needs ride improvement will be extra pleased with these shocks for sure. Buy new 10.9 or Grade 8 bolts, nuts and washers that fit the shock and the truck mount, take the shocks with you for sizing. Suggest putting on new Stabilizer Bar Kits while you have the shock off, Moog kits from TRUCKiD are great.

Great Shocks. Were missing most of the hardware - bags came open, boxes had ends torn
First 2002 Ford F-150 Crewcab 4X4. Would have been a 5 star if everything was there. Have had twin tube shocks in the past cheaper Gabriels. It took about 10 days to get the top shock hardware I needed, and special thanks to TRUCKiD for getting the packages of hardware. These shocks were not boxed very well with missing box tabs, and no tape to keep the box closed. The hardware bags were torn by the top pointed end of the shock and torn open, some stuff rattling around, most was just plain gone (all 4 boxes). Shocks were not damaged. This was a KYB issue for sure. The new KYB shocks (front and rear) are really amazing. Very glad I went with monotube shocks. Smooth, much better ride quality, quiet, and the best ride I have ever had. TRUCKiD sent these pretty fast free shipping, and they were packed very well by them. Some advice is to check the shock boxes for hardware before you send them out to customers if possible. I would bet many boxes are in the same shape as those I received. I also changed all the lower shock attachment bolts, washers and nuts with high quality Grade 8 or 10.9 bolts. Fit MUST be tight to shocks. Be sure to fit the bolt to the shock sleeve (take the new shocks and old bolts with you). Metric for front, standard for rear. .5 inch rear and 14mm front - yes the shocks are different front to rear. Torque to at least 100 ft/lbs and double nut. Found these at ACE Hardware, you might need to go to a bolt shop. Some advice is to use a quality bushing sticky grease (silicone only). Do not lube with petroleum. Be sure to change your stabilizer bar links while you have everything apart. My links fell apart when I removed them. Easy to do and TRUCKiD has quality Moog link kits. Lube them also with the sticky silicone grease (not dielectric or thin grease). I think it was Rancho lube. Thanks again TRUCKiD Customer Service for getting the hardware. You get 10 stars.

Gas-A-Just Shocks
I am very happy with these shocks. The ride is excellent and my 1995 Ranger seems to be able to carry more without any noticeable "sagging" affect as before. The transaction was easy and they arrived quickly. Thank you!

Great Product
Great product, installation was pretty straightforward. But if you plan on hauling a lot of weight in the bed of your truck or in the back of your vehicle, you may want to go with some heavy duty shocks.

Upgrade 2003 Ranger
I think these are the first shocks replaced on the recent purchase used vehicle as the tubes stamped Motorcraft. Easy install and definitely adjusted ride and handling. Many talked about getting the lower in as the cylinders expand after releasing the strap. Any moderate strength can compress it as it isn’t a strut it backup and tap the bolt in or just place a large screw driver against the bracket and guide it into place and insert bolt.
