N-Fab® JPTS32 - Black Rock Rail Detachable Steps

The hoop steps were ordered as a pair and were delivered here in 3 days, which is normal. They were good packed. When unwrapped, it appeared that the steps' finish matched completely to the finish of the rails. Bolt on installation was fast and easy. Perfect finish, perfect fitment, perfect look, perfect quality, easy installation. Yet another reason for my purchasing only US made parts for the truck. My previous experience with the side steps was way not so positive. I recommend these hoop steps for sure.

This was a perfect solution for my 2021 Nissan Titan Pro-4X. I needed rock rails to protect the sheet metal, and steps so the kids and wife can get into the truck more easily. Most steps are a hindrance while offloading, as they tend to catch on rocks and other obstacles, but these removed with just 2 bolts (per step). Best of both worlds. The quality seems good so far, but I haven't taken them off road yet. Time will tell how sturdy they are, though for sure better than crunching the body. I gave it 4 stars mostly because installation was a pain in the ass for something that should have been very easy -- just 6 bolts per rail. Can't necessarily blame N-Fab for this, as the problem was with clearance to get a wrench into a small space in the frame of the truck for one bolt on each side. Let's just say I now have a new set of low-profile ratcheting box wrenches in my toolbox, because it's impossible to get a ratchet wrench or manual driver wrench into the space.

I went with a set of the N-Fab Black Rock Rails with the optional steps for my 2019 Ram 2500 4X4. They arrived quickly and well packaged with no damage or dings. Installation was straightforward and simple with the only challenge being getting the nuts started on the lower mounting bolts due to tight location. It is doable, however just be sure not to tighten anything down until all bolts are in and you are happy with alignment. Removeable steps are a breeze to install or remove and make getting into the truck much easier. My only complaint would be that the wrong size bolts were sent for the 3/8 slot nuts, but a quick trip to the hardware store remedied that. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality and ease of installation of these rails.

The product built up easily. Have mixed feelings about it right now, but I will see if it grows on me. Paint is not the best quality and chips easily. Good solid product. Paint isn't the best.

Two complaints: 1- Go to the hardware store and buy shorter bolts and smaller washers, the included hex head bolts and carriage bolts are too long, I did not use the carriage bolts as they did not fit quite how I wanted them too, the washers were too big for the supplied hex bolts and made a sloppy fit on the bolt. 2- I had to drill one hole to accommodate a mounting point for the middle bracket on the slider, the bracket has two mounting holes, but the way it sat under the rocker panel, there is only room for one hole to be drilled, however, the two end brackets mounted up tight and sturdy, but having the extra bolt on the middle bracket is just cheap insurance. I put these on my 2013 F150 FX4 3.5 ecoboost for reference to anyone else installing these on your truck. After the install, they look great on the truck and the functionality and protection is priceless, I used the next day while rock crawling and they held up great! They also sit close the rocker panel, so it effects ground clearance minimally vs a side step version on a rock slider. The craftsman ship and paint were all excellent and quality control seems to be on par. They took me about 4 hours to install after making my trips to the hardware store and figuring out how they mounted to the truck since the instructions are garbage and not helpful at all.

The rails look and perform great. Shipping was amazing. I was shorted on the hardware to install. I had to go to an auto parts dealer to buy 4 more of each of the hardware parts.

Bought for my new 2016 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 Crew Cab added the steps and I am very happy with the look and the ease of climbing into the truck. Installation was very easy and was a one person job. I would recommend to those looking for a good looking addition to their 4x4 vehicle.

I am from Norway and wanted rock rails for my Hummer. I am very satisfied with the product and happy to say that TRUCKiD is safe to do purchase from.

The design is universal and good. But it's a little heavy.
