Front Driveshaft (16591.51) by Omix-ADA®. Driveshaft problems are common on 4WD vehicles. Suspension lifts and 4 wheeling off road can stress and strain the driveshafts and U-joints, causing defects that can result in vibration and noise, or in extreme cases, complete driveshaft failure. If inspection proves that your Jeep is need of new driveshafts, Omix-ADA has the replacement shafts that will get your Jeep back on the road and trail. These driveshafts come complete with U-joints installed.
The most common driveshaft and U-joint malfunction symptoms are vibration and noise. Vibration that increases with speed or is most noticeable at speed can be caused by an unbalanced driveshaft. The unbalance can be caused by dents or because of a buildup of dirt or mud, both of which can be the result of off-road excursions, or a missing driveshaft balance weight. A vibration that is experienced at low speed can be caused by incorrect driveshaft and/or U-joint operating angles, which could be caused by a suspension lift or overloading of the vehicle, or binding U-joints. Worn or damaged U-joints can cause a clunking or squeaking noise.
Don't wait for complete driveshaft failure to strand you out on the trail. At the first sign of the above symptoms, inspect your driveshaft and U-joints. If they're defective, replace them with the driveshafts that are designed, engineered and manufactured specifically for your Jeep. Omix-ADA driveshafts meet or exceed original equipment specifications for fit and operation, and they're .
