    1988 F-150
Overall, I can't complain, it took about 45 min of poking around before I was able to get it right. But once I had it down, it was easy to take apart and put the piece I forgot in. It works well enough. The bed does lock now, which is an improvement from where it started.

    Pop&Lock Pl5400 on 2009 Tacoma
Easy installation tailgate opening feature works as good as factory. Lock and unlock feature can be difficult at times especially in dusty conditions. We will see how long it lasts.

Lock Can Open with Any Key
I followed the coding instructions and had success making it work with my truck key. 5 months later and the lock will open without me even putting the key a cm deep. Any key can turn it to unlock it now making it useless as a lock and only a visual detterent. The locking feature still works only with my truck key all the way in, which is ironic. I'm not sure if there's a warranty or not but I'd love to try a new one out in the hopes I got a bad apple.

    Not Happy with this Product
Bought this for my Hummer H3T. Install was pretty easy. No problems to use. One winter and this thing seized wright up. I could not put a key in it anymore. By the time spring came it was completely rusty and put rust stains on my handle. I had to disassemble my tailgate to remove it. Not happy that it rusted so quick and became unusable. Might be better product somewhere sunny.

Pop & Lock Installation for 2020 Tacoma
The product is easy to install and of great quality. I asked the dealership and said that the lock would cost $275 and 300 to installed. I saved a lot of money and had a great time installing it! Just look at the video in YouTube!

Need a bit more info on the installation sheet. Pictures are not very clear.

    Doesn’t Work.
I installed in my 2002 Ford Ranger (plastic handle) and didn’t work properly. The locker doesn’t fit in the place and leaves a large gap between the tailgate and the tailgate handle. This will allow more rain and dust into the tailgate. The locker only restricts movement on the passenger side rod, the drivers side flexes when you pull the handle, looks like will brake the plastic handle when pulled. Also the locker didn’t do the job as advertised, if you pull the handle like 3 times harder then the normal the tailgate opens without any problems. Very disappointed to pay $80 for something that doesn’t work.

    Seems Good, So Far
Installed this on a used Tacoma, I recently purchased and it replaced an older manually locking Pop and Lock handle. This model is powder coated metal instead of plastic like the old one; however, many of the internals still use plastic, specifically the plunger that automatically unlocks the lock and the trigger on the handle itself to open the handle. I've only had it installed for a few days so time will tell, I used plumbers grease on all the internal plastic functioning pieces. In addition, I had to order a separate mounting bracket to fit my factory camera (Pop and Lock customer service verified this for me). The older handle I replaced had a completely different mounting bracket for the camera. Install is pretty easy, but takes time if you haven't done it before. I wired it to the passenger side so it isn't always cycling when I unlock the driver door. If you can change your own oil, you can definitely install this, just plan on 4-6 hours. I've read several "negatives" about how loud it is when working, and that is because the tailgate itself is hollow and doesn't have much padding (if you have any extra Dynamat around, it would cut down on the noise). I don't really mind the sound, because I can confirm it is locking. Overall, satisfied so far!

    Tricky.
A bit tricky to fit into a tight spot, but once in, it seems fine.
