Track Day Spec Advanced Rear Brake Pads (PSA-154) by PowerStop®. Drivers who participate in “Track-Days” or “High Performance Driving Events (HPDE)” rely on their brakes and know the value of having the right brake pads. The PowerStop R&D team have spent countless hours formulating friction compounds that are matched to each individual vehicle platform, this means you spend more time on the track and less time trying to find the ideal brake pad setup for your vehicle. PowerStop’s platform-specific friction compounds offer a very high coefficient of friction and resist fading even at the highest temperatures thanks to its Carbon-Fiber/Metallic formulation.

The braking components in Track Day kits are tested on the track, this is not a re-purposed street compound. PowerStop test vehicles are equipped with a sophisticated data logging system & spends hundreds of test hours on a real track. Advanced friction compound was tuned using an AIM EVO4 data-logger monitoring brake pressures, rotor temperatures, and velocity changes via wheel speed, GPS, and 3-axis accelerometers. The 2008 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 served as the ideal vehicle to develop our platform-specific braking system suited for both track days as well as the drive home.

POWERSTOP PERFORMANCE BRAKE KITS WITH AND WITHOUT CALIPERS (KIT, K26, K36, MDK, ESK, KCL, C26, C36, MDC), PURCHASED AND INSTALLED AS A KIT:

If a customer is not satisfied with the quality and performance of a kit for any reason within 60 days of the invoice date or the installation date by a professional technician (an invoice from the installation shop is required), and the required break-in procedure was implemented, PowerStop LLC will provide a one-time exchange of the kit for a new one. This no-questions-asked, 60 day warranty must be facilitated by the authorized PowerStop retailer.

PowerStop LLC warrants this product to be free from defects and poor workmanship for 3 years from the purchase date or 36,000 miles of use, whichever occurs first. The product, when properly installed on the type of vehicle prescribed, and in which a defect in workmanship and material is found, will be exchanged free of charge if returned to the seller who is authorized to give this warranty. PowerStop LLC is not responsible for its products when they are subjected to misuse, abuse, improper application, improper installation, or accident. This warranty includes rotor cracking. Normal wear is not covered by this warranty. Failure of components due to using non-approved DOT 5 Silicone brake fluid is not covered by this warranty. This warranty also excludes stripped bleeder and banjo bolt holes caused by over-tightening. The 3-year/36,000-mile warranty excludes failure of components due to disc thickness variation (DTV*), usually indicated by brake pulsation.

POWERSTOP TRACK DAY, TRACK DAY SPEC, TRACK DAY KITS AND TRACK DAY SPEC KITS (TDK, TDSK, PST, PSA):

PowerStop LLC warrants its Track Day and Track Day Spec kits and pads to be free from defects in materials or workmanship for 30 days from the purchase date. The product, when properly installed in the type of vehicle prescribed, and in which a material or workmanship defect is found, will be exchanged free of charge if returned to the seller who is authorized to service this warranty. PowerStop LLC is not responsible for its products when they are subjected to misuse, abuse, improper application, improper installation, or accident. PowerStop LLC does not reimburse labor charges associated with the installation of its products. This 30- day warranty excludes failure of components due to disc thickness variation (DTV*), usually indicated by brake pulsation. Normal wear is not covered by this warranty.

POWERSTOP REPLACEMENT BRAKE KITS (KOE, KCOE, CRK), PURCHASED AND INSTALLED AS A KIT:

The product, when properly installed in the type of vehicle prescribed, and in which a material or workmanship defect is found, will be exchanged free of charge if returned to the seller who is authorized to service this warranty. PowerStop LLC is not responsible for its products when they are subjected to misuse, abuse, improper application, improper installation, or accident. This 90-day/3,000-mile warranty excludes failure of components due to disc thickness variation (DTV*), usually indicated by brake pulsation. Normal wear is not covered by this warranty.

NO PERSON IS AUTHORIZED BY POWERSTOP TO MODIFY OR ADD TO THE FOREGOING WARRANTY.

*The primary cause of DTV, or “warped brake rotors,” stems from using an improper break-in procedure or executing long stops from high speeds without properly releasing the brake pedal after coming to a stop.

Could Not Stop the Squealing

I had these professionally installed and I followed the manufacturers break in procedure multiple times. The squealing was intolerable. I took it back to the shop and they followed the manufacturers troubleshooting advice. Still squealing. I then took it to another shop thinking maybe that was the problem. Still could not stop all the noise. I eventually had them replaced with organic brake pads. So I spent a lot of money on these pads and mechanic services and am left with some 3 week old pads in a box in my garage. I would not recommend these to others. There were no reviews on this product when I bought them, and I rarely write them, so I thought I should help others out with this one. I had one friend tell me that all high performance metallic brakes make noise like this. Maybe so, but I could not tolerate it or solve it with these pads.

New Break Pads for New Rotors

Fit is good. Vendor instructions for break in differs from on-line TRUCKiD instructions. Bottom line is that a break in is very important. Smooth and sure breaking from high speed to near stop. Occasionally notice a grinding sound at very low speed stopping (not from rust on rotors). Inspected of the pads (removed the caliper to see inside), but all looked fine. Just the nature of the pads (they are ceramic).
