R1 Concepts® WFVH2-54047 - Front and Rear Brake Kit with Performance Off-Road/Tow Brake Pads

I was once told that, with the amount of weight of my truck and the fact I tow weight, I should go to the slotted, drilled disc brake rotors and high-end pads. When I purchased my 19 RAM, I had to replace the brakes, so I did. One tow, I had about 1,000 lbs loaded and was traveling the highway. At a split between two highways, I was traveling forward with a proper distance between me and the car in front. Suddenly the car switched to the left lane, and I was confronted with a line of stopped traffic. I hit the brakes hard (traveling 70mph) and stopped within inches of the bumper of the car in front of me. With standard brakes and pads, I wouldn't have stopped as quickly and/or I would've lost my trailer or its contents as a result. I recently purchased a 21 RAM and that was my priority: changing out the brakes. And someone recommended the TRUCKiD site. These brakes are not cheap, the pads have been upgraded too with better material and so they last a long time, but it requires a major investment. TRUCKiD did have the best price, though, for the package. In addition, as I've heard some comment, a truck begs to be personalized, and it is often the first thing that most people do. Not only was I able to upgrade the brake system but I was able to further promote the esthetic appearance as well with the color rotors at not much more to the cost column. This was a bonus for the modifier who is looking for a certain look for their vehicle. The product is robust, as is evident by the lack of proper shipping and container packaging. The typical cardboard containers aren't strong enough to handle the weight (about 150lbs for the system). I highly recommend purchasing this set when you are upgrading your brake system and purchasing the complete set (pads, rotors all around) for a decent, fair price. You get what you pay for, and a strong brake system saves family, cargo and vehicle when combined with safe driving technique for those unexpected situations.

Everything fit as expected with no issues the mounting brackets and hardware fit perfectly. The extra braking power feels very responsive. I will update this review after 6 months.

Used on a 2016 Honda Civic coupe in the northeast. This kit included all the car parts (including shims, etc.) that were needed to replace the old brakes and rotors. 4k miles in, and no issues yet. Better stopping distance than stock parts, and no added noise after the short break in period. Used in normal road/wet road/ gravel, and still no complaints or issues. Overall very happy with this purchase!

Less than 12000 miles and fronts are warped. All highway and interstate driving....will never buy another R1 Concepts part.
