Product Details

Universal Metal Fuel Tank Cap by RDS®. Designed to connect your RDS auxiliary or RDS transfer diesel fuel tank to your truck’s fuel fill hose. Automatically controls the fuel level going into your OEM tank. Works with RDS auxiliary fuel tanks, RDS transfer fuel tanks and RDS fuel tank/toolbox combos. Intended for diesel fuel only.

This RDS diesel install kit connects your auxiliary or transfer diesel fuel tank to your truck's fuel fill hose and provides consistent gravity feed of fuel. You don't have to worry about overfilling your OEM tank as it automatically controls the fuel level. The installation is trouble-free. Kit includes hoses, clamps and fittings. With the help of the RDS diesel install kit you can use the RDS auxiliary and RDS transfer tank as additional capacity for a factory tank. RDS proudly manufactures all its products in the United States.

Fuel Cap Worked Great!

Love It!
Everything went as planed. Took me about an hour to install. Very straight forward. The only thing is the price is a little high but would buy it again if needed.

2013 Ram 2500
Removed right rear fender well to get the fill lines out. If you do that first it's a lot easier. Took about 2 hours to install. That doesn't include your particular installation of the tank lines valves etc. The particular tank that I used was a tight fit, so it took about 2 hours trying different configurations with the shut off valve. So in the end the shut off valve is mounted inside the fender well instead of right on the tank. Directions would be nice to clarify some questions about the check valve position. Installed in accordance with the system diagram and it works fine. Very straight forward.

Mounting Brackets Need To Be Enlarged
Not only should the mounting bracket be enlarged to provide better edge margin, there should also a third mounting bracket - one bracket on each side, and one on the front (vehicle rear). Having a bracket just on one side and the front creates uneven load displacement on the two mounting brackets when turning, braking, and accelerating. Material quality seems good. Welds look good. Safety needs to be addressed. Add the third bracket, and enlarge the current ones. Charge $50 more.

72745 Tank Tool Box Combo
I have a long bed 2018 Ram 3500 Dually and had plenty of room to install the 91 gallon capacity tank / tool box. The quality is excellent and everything I expected. The installation was a snap with the install kit. It looks awesome and allows me the capability to carry straps, hitch pieces and tools in a locked environment. Great Extra Fuel Option and Toolbox
Shipped quickly, arrived in 2 days. No damage and good packaging! Tank measurements are perfect, put in a SRW 3500 Silverado with 6’6 “ bed. Easy installation with RDS transfer kit. Going to work great to pull our RV across the country!
