    Product Details

Falcon Dual Steering Stabilizer Kit by ReadyLIFT®. Cure that wandering feeling in your 2500/3500 4WD Dodge Ram truck's steering by adding this stabilizer box. Installs in a half-hour. Makes your truck go down the road straight, especially if you have "death wobble" after adding some weight (like a plow or winch) to the front end. Cure the factory's problem, whether you've lifted the front end or not, by adding this stabilizer system.

Dodge 2500-3500 pickups have an inherent problem with their steering. The steering box is simply not mounted to the frame rigidly enough. Under high load, or even in response to the steering system's natural resonant frequency, the box will move around slightly. That makes the steering "feel" very vague. In some cases, it actually gets bad enough to start to oscillate, making the steering wheel wobble in your hand. A mild lift, larger tires, or extra weight on the front end will make the problem worse.

The only cure is to make the coupling between the steering box and the frame rails stiffer. You could just add a lot of metal to the stock mounting, which would involve fabricating gussets for the frame rails. ReadyLIFT has a better solution. Their stabilizer bar braces the steering box where it does the most good - at the output shaft, inches away from the stock mounting points. By triangulating the mount between both front sway bar mounts and the Pitman arm shaft, the whole steering system is much more rigid. Wobble and vagueness is gone. Better yet, because the Stabilizer Bar has its own bearing, it even keeps the output shaft more accurately located than the steering box's own internal bushings. That will make the steering more precise, of course; but the steering box itself should last longer, especially in heavy-duty use.

Installation should take only a half-hour or so, and involves removing the front sway bar long enough to install the steel tubing Stabilizer Bar, and replacing the nut on the end of the Pitman arm with a longer, shanked nut to accept the bearing.
