Product Details

Universal Batwing Compact Awning (Left) (33300) by Rhino-Rack®. The Batwing swing out awning provides a full 270 degrees protection from the sun and rain at the side and rear of your vehicle. It mounts easily to Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty, Aero, and Sportz cross bars, and to other make cross bars and cargo trays with available fitting kits, and can be set up or packed away in minutes by one person. Made from waterproof and mold resistant rip-stop polycotton canvas, with an anodized aluminum frame and corrosion resistant hardware, the Batwing comes in left side and right side mounting versions with telescopic poles, pegs, and ropes. Complete installation and user instructions are included.

And if you're a sportsman or traveler, the Batwing will provide an instant oasis, where you can get out of your vehicle and enjoy the outdoors while staying cool and dry.

The Batwing easily mounts to Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty, Aero, and Sportz cross bars. It swings out to provide a full 270 degrees of shade and rain protection at the left hand side and rear of your vehicle. Easily set up or packed away by one person, the Batwing comes with telescoping poles, pegs and ropes in their own travel bag, to support the edges of the awning. Using available fitting kits, it can be mounted to the ends of the Rhino-Rack H/D bars, to free up the cross bars for cargo and other accessories; to Thule, Inno, and Yakima cross bars; and to ARB, TJM, and Tracklander trays.

Proven tough under the harsh conditions of the Australian outback, the Batwing is made to last, with awning fabric made from high quality rip-stop polycotton canvas that is UV protected, waterproof, and mold resistant, and a solid framework constructed from anodized aluminum and corrosion resistant hardware that won't rust. Warranty

Rhino-Rack goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits given to you by Rhino-Rack under this warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the goods to which the warranty relates.

Subject to the conditions of this warranty, Rhino-Rack warrants the following products manufactured by Rhino-Rack will be free from any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship for the following periods from the date of purchase (each a "Warranty Period"):

Lifetime for roof racks*;
1 year for products made from textile and fabric, locks and electrical components;
3 years for steel (ferrous) products and components;
5 years for all other products.
*Lifetime warranty applies on all Euro, Heavy Duty and Vortex cross bar systems and does not apply to Pioneer and other roof tray products.

Remedies

If a defect appears during the time periods referred to above, Rhino-Rack will, within a reasonable time of being notified of the warranty claim, repair or replace, at Rhino-Rack's option any defective product or defective component without charge for parts or labor.

Conditions and Exclusions

This warranty does not apply to:

any person other than the original retail customer or recipient of the product (in the case of acquisition as a gift or promotion) and it is not transferable.
any defect in materials or workmanship, if: the purchaser examined the product before having agreed to purchase the product and that examination ought reasonably to have revealed the defect; or the defect was specifically drawn to the purchaser's attention before the purchaser agreed to purchase the product;
failures caused by inadequate maintenance or non-compliance to fitting instructions supplied by Rhino-Rack. It is your responsibility to maintain the product adequately. Rhino-Rack recommends that this product be removed from your vehicle for regular cleaning and when not in use for extended periods. Any components subject to normal wear, degradation or consumption through use or exposure to the elements must be inspected periodically and replaced with Rhino-Rack parts as required;
any defects, loss or damage caused by a product being fitted to a non-compatible vehicle, for example, because of the vehicle's shape or build;
any defects, loss or damage caused by conditions beyond Rhino-Rack's control including, but not limited to any cost, loss, misuse, neglect, accidents, attachment of accessories not originating from Rhino-Rack, act of God, overloading beyond recommended capacity or other improper treatment of the product, including incorrect assembly or fitment by the purchaser, retailer or any other third party;
any defects or damage caused by modifications to the vehicle or the product or the user's failure to properly secure cargo as recommended by Rhino-Rack;
any consequential or incidental damage, including but not limited to damage to your vehicle, cargo or to any other person or property.

One Screw Faulty

When trying to put it together I realized there was one screw that had messed up threads resulting in not being able to use it. As this was purchased in the off-season, it took quite a while before I noticed it. My bad for waiting so long to contact the company. It still is frustrating when you pay for something and one little screw sets you back. Otherwise, it seems like it would have been perfect.

Great Product

I would give this 5 stars, but the only problem I had was that the bars made a howling noise at certain speeds. There are ways to mitigate and it's more of an inconvenience than an issue.

Doing Good.

Very trustworthy, even with a kayak strpped to it. Only complaint is when it has nothing on tge rails, there's a light whistle.

Doing Good

Got it a bit ago because it came in right on time, but didn't put it on my car until recently. Didn't take long at all to put up and strapped a kayak to it that night. Was able to drive around with it up there with no worries. Only complaint is that when nothings strapped to the rails, there is a light whistle you hear when driving around but oh well I'm just happy to have rails that are trustworthy.
