Rhino-Rack® S512X - Folding J-Style Kayak Carrier Extension

The cost of recreational activities is high enough without adding to them unnecessarily. Rhino-Rack is doing its part to keep costs down with these Folding J-Style Kayak Carrier Extension Pieces. Instead of having to purchase another entire carrier if you want to transport an additional kayak on your roof rack, these economical extension pieces can be used with the Folding J-Style carrier to turn it into a dual carrier, transporting 2 kayaks back-to-back.

With the folding part of the J-Style carrier in the vertical position the extension piece becomes the lower part of the “J”, forming a mirror image carrier on the other side. Like the J-Style carrier, the extension pieces are constructed from durable carbon steel tubing and given a state-of-the-art coating to prevent them from fading or corroding. Rubber tube pads are included to cushion and protect your kayak’s finish. Once your boat is loaded, use the 2 included 9.9’ padded tie-down straps to secure the craft to the carrier, and the 2 included 18’ tie-down straps to secure the bow and stern of the boat to the vehicle.

Stainless steel security hardware and clamps are included to attach the extension pieces to Rhino-Rack Aero cross bars, factory cross bars, and most popular aftermarket cross bar shapes, and a security hex key is included. If your vehicle has Rhino-Rack H/D cross bars, an optional fitting kit is needed for installation. The Folding J-Style Kayak Carrier Extension Pieces come with detailed, illustrated installation instructions, and they’re backed by a limited 3-year warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship.
