Universal Kayak Carrier Fitting Kit (HD-FK2) by Rhino-Rack®. For Heavy Duty Load Bars. If you have a Rhino-Rack Heavy Duty Crossbar system or a Prorack Trade Crossbar and would like to mount Rhino-Racks range of Kayak and Canoe Carriers including the Nautic 580 and Nautic 581, you will require the HD-FK2 fitting kit. The kit comes with all the necessary items to attach the kayak carriers to your Rhino-Rack Heavy Duty Bars or Prorack trade crossbars.

Rhino-Rack’s patented Foxwing awning is an easy to use swing out awning that shades the side and rear of a vehicle. It takes only minutes to set up and provide protection from the sun and rain. Part of the reason for the Foxwing’s ease of use is because it attaches to Rhino-Rack Heavy-Duty, Aero, and Sportz cross bars. These fitting kits are designed to increase the usefulness of the awning and expand the number of applications where it can be used.

If you’d like to able to have full use of your cross bars for cargo and accessories, but also want to mount a Foxwing, the 31102 fitting kit enables the awning to be installed to the ends of the Rhino-Rack H/D cross bars. If you have an ARB or TJM roof mounted cargo tray, the 31103 kit allows the awning to be installed to the tray. The 31104 kit accomplished the same for those with a Tracklander tray. And the 31105 kit enables the awning to be installed on vehicles with Thule, Inno, or Yakima roof racks.

Each kit comes with hardware and instructions and is backed by a limited 3-year warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship.

Warranty

Rhino-Rack goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The benefits given to you by Rhino-Rack under this warranty are in addition to your other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the goods to which the warranty relates.

Subject to the conditions of this warranty, Rhino-Rack warrants the following products manufactured by Rhino-Rack will be free from any manufacturing defect in materials or workmanship for the following periods from the date of purchase (each a "Warranty Period"):

Lifetime for roof racks*;
1 year for products made from textile and fabric, locks and electrical components;
3 years for steel (ferrous) products and components;
5 years for all other products.
*Lifetime warranty applies on all Euro, Heavy Duty and Vortex cross bar systems and does not apply to Pioneer and other roof tray products.

Remedies

If a defect appears during the time periods referred to above, Rhino-Rack will, within a reasonable time of being notified of the warranty claim, repair or replace, at Rhino-Rack's option any defective product or defective component without charge for parts or labor.

Conditions and Exclusions

This warranty does not apply to:

any person other than the original retail customer or recipient of the product (in the case of acquisition as a gift or promotion) and it is not transferable.
any defect in materials or workmanship, if: the purchaser examined the product before having agreed to purchase the product and that examination ought reasonably to have revealed the defect; or the defect was specifically drawn to the purchaser's attention before the purchaser agreed to purchase the product;
failures caused by inadequate maintenance or non-compliance to fitting instructions supplied by Rhino-Rack. It is your responsibility to maintain the product adequately. Rhino-Rack recommends that this product be removed from your vehicle for regular cleaning and when not in use for extended periods. Any components subject to normal wear, degradation or consumption through use or exposure to the elements must be inspected periodically and replaced with Rhino-Rack parts as required;
any defects, loss or damage caused by a product being fitted to a non-compatible vehicle, for example, because of the vehicle's shape or build;
any defects, loss or damage caused by conditions beyond Rhino-Rack's control including, but not limited to any cost, loss, misuse, neglect, accidents, attachment of accessories not originating from Rhino-Rack, act of God, overloading beyond recommended capacity or other improper treatment of the product, including incorrect assembly or fitment by the purchaser, retailer or any other third party;
any defects or damage caused by modifications to the vehicle or the product or the user's failure to properly secure cargo as recommended by Rhino-Rack;
any consequential or incidental damage, including but not limited to damage to your vehicle, cargo or to any other person or property.

Rhino Rack Eye Bolts

Eye bolts work out great. Holds my kayak on the roof of my Jeep securely. Only wish I had gotten them before I installed the roof rack.

Perfect for Fly Fishing Roadside Streams

I frequently fish streams that are accessible by roads with pullover parking at various points along them. The Rhino-Rack multi purpose holders allow me and my companions to safely transport our fly rods fully assembled and ready to fish from pullover to pullover. Each holder can hold at least two fly rods. After parking we can be casting to rising fish in less than a minute. On my Honda Ridgeline I installed 2 sets of Multi Purpose Holders on my crossbars, each holder is located as close to the roof rails as possible. This allows quick and easy access to load or offload our fly rods as soon as were parked or ready to depart. The rubber strap snaps securely over the button part of the front or rear post with little effort by simultaneously hooking the the straps desired hole under the edge the posts button and pulling the straps end downward at a 45 degree angle. I've really gotten to love these multi purpose holders, they've made my fly fishing experience so much more enjoyable. Other advantages: In between the two sets of holders I have plenty of room to transport a canoe, kayak or other apparatus on my crossbars and use the holders to transport paddles or other ancillary components. Since I snow ski I plan on using the holders to transport my skis and poles. Again, loading and unloading will be easier. I also dinghy sail so I can use the holders to transport masts and booms. Installation was a breeze: my 3 inch wide, flat semielliptical cross bars were ideally suited for the holders upper and lower universal clamps. Installation time per holder was about 10 minutes using the allen key provided in the kit. Instructions are well illustrated and explicit.

Good Quality

It sits against the top side of a Toyota Sequoia, so you need to put some kind of pad under it or it will scratch or dent the body. Easy to use.

Excellent

All I can say is that this wind fairing is excellent. Wind noise cut down by 95% on my roof rack. Gas mileage also improved, not sure of percentage yet. I drive a 2013 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE.

Question:

By "bolts and washers only" does that mean the plastic over/under pieces and the bolts that hold them together? Or literally just bolts and standard washers, while the plastic mounting pieces shown in black (and not shadowed) aren't included?
