Romik® 32905418 - 6" RZR Series Polished Running Boards

Installation instructions need improvement. I am a mechanic, and I had a problem with the instructions.

They look ok for the choices you get for a brand new Kia Sportage. Easy to install, about an hour. Rather expensive, make sure you shop around but my price was average. Well made, will easily withstand 300lbs. My chief complaint is that they protrude way too far from under my Sportage bottom sill. The back of my ankles take a beating getting both in and out. Overall rating for me is a 3.0 stars.

Hello, to all considering these for a compact SUV/CUV. I installed these, on my wife's 2018 Kia Sportage Ex. They really add curb appeal, and utility, (especially for the Grand kid's getting in and out) to an already great looking SUV. 1st piece of advice; give them a nice coat, of carnauba wax, before you install them. Installation was very easy. The most difficult part, was locating the center mounting bracket location's, on both passenger and driver's sides, due to the factory rust proofing, covering the rubber plug inserted on the frame rail. To locate it, tap with your finger, about midway between rear and front plugs you removed earlier. You will here a dull thud, when you tap the robber plug vs. the metal frame. The dull thud is the plug. Pull it out. Easy. Also, on the center bracket, you will need to remove a bolt from the plastic cover on the under carriage, nearest the running board side of the bracket. Once removed, go to your local hardware store and buy the same size/thread pitch bolt, 1/2 inch longer than the original, as the OEM bolt, is not quite long enough, to go through the additional thickness added, from passing through the new bracket. Don't let my review of the install, cause apprehension, on your purchase of these great running boards. Start to finish was 40 minutes. Thanks, TRUCKiD and Romik, for a great product!

Running boards look great and add sharp lines to our Enclave. They are sturdy and do a good job of making entry easier. Installation wasn’t too bad once I figured it out (instructions aren’t all that great). It took about 3 hours total.

Beautiful product with polished stainless and rubber grips. The brackets are made of steel and could potentially rust. 2 out of 4 brackets did not fit well.

The running boards looks great! Very stylish. I knew the ad said 6" but thought that would be the width after being mounted. I have a small foot, size 5.5, and it is difficult for me to get my foot safely on the board. Disappointed!

Excellent just what I needed!

The kit arrived in two boxes on two separate days. This was ok since I could not install it for a week. The installation instructions were only the basics and could have been made clearer. My issue was that the installation pictures showed the brackets with the front of the car shown, only to discover it was backwards. I had to swap sides to make the bolt holes line up. The second issue was that the vertical straight brackets, the slotted hole that bolts to the large bracket, were too small for the large supplied bolt. I had to drill out the holes to 1/2" because that is the next size drill bit I had up from 3/8". The running boards come with six bolts in two tracks, of which only 4 bolts can be bolted down to the brackets. The only way to remove the extra bolts from the track is to remove the end caps. I chose to leave them in place and tighten them down near the front bracket. The running boards look like they can be used on either side, so there is no left or right that I could tell. So, the ROMIK badge ended up on the back end of the car. Other than these issues, they went on ok and look good. They will help my wife now have a step to get into the car more easily. I hope Romik reads this and improves the directions for the specific vehicles and ensures all bracket holes are the proper size to make the kit truly a bolt-in installation.
