    Product Details

Downstream Electric Fuel Pump by Spectra Premium®. Bring your vehicle’s fuel system back to its top shape with this top-notch part. Designed as a direct-fit replacement of your worn-out or malfunctioning part, it will provide easy, no-hassle installation and help restore proper fuel system functionality needed to keep your vehicle performing reliably, efficiently, and safely for many miles to come. This component is made to OEM standards so you can expect years of reliable function and hassle-free service.

    Installation

Electronic fuel injection systems operate at very high fuel pressures. This is why the electric fuel pump must be able to consistently supply fuel at pressure as high as 75 psi or more providing the engine with enough fuel at the required pressure for proper performance. The typical pump has an impeller attached to the end of the motor shaft that draws in fuel from one end and pushes it out at the other end of the pump. An average fuel pump fails between 7 and 10 years. If you’re experiencing a no start condition or poor performance due to no or reduced fuel flow, and testing reveals that the pump is at fault, a Spectra premium pump is your best choice.

1992 Audi 100S Fuel Pump Motor
Exact fit for the Audi 100. You will need to attach the push-on connectors to the wire leads. Note the brown wire is the NEG and the green stripe wire is the POS. Suggest soldering the wires to the connectors after crimping. The fuel pump is in the trunk. Remove spare tire and the back rug covering. Find the metal cover, remove three screws, remove the electrical connector. Remove the two rubber hoses, mine were held with screw type hose clamps. Using a socket (15MM) carefully remove the main gas feed line, don't lose the bolt or the brass washer. Clean dirt from around the plastic top section. Remove the metal ring holding the plastic top. Remove the top section, remove the rubber gas return line from the underside of the top plastic section, leave in tank. Best to have less than a 1/4 tank of gas. Do not disconnect the main gas feed line at the metal connectors that you will see in the tank. Reach into tank and push back two plastic fingers holding the pump motor while pulling up slightly on the gas line. Once clear of the two fingers the pump motor can be pulled straight up and out of the tank along with the top section. Note the position of everything taken apart. Use a small hose clamp to attach the rubber gas line to the new pump motor. The tightening screw on the small clamp has to be in the right position otherwise it will get in way of other things and prevent the proper re-installation of the pump motor. It's a fun job that you will hope you never have to do again.

    Works Fine, Scary Shipping Method.
It fits perfectly. It is working. The electrical connections were a little different from a 'real' 1977 Celica fuel pump, but this unit came with the wires and 'so-so' instructions on how to change over so that worked fine. It came with some extra, new parts (gasket, elbow hose, etc.), some that I didn't need but other people/cars probably could use, that was nice. However, I was somewhat horrified when it was delivered in a shipping box that was about 10 times the size of the little box the pump was in because there was no packing material at all. This little pump was just slamming around inside the huge shipping box. I can only imagine every time this box was tossed from truck to plane to truck to container to shelf to truck to and every time the poor little pump was being slammed around inside its cavernous shipping box. If this unit had been damaged in shipping, I wouldn't know it and (assuming it works) I'd go running off wasting incredible amounts of time looking for other problems with my fuel system. However it was not broken (surprisingly) and is working.

    Replacement FDM's
Working great so far. No more cross-feed to the other tank. Would've liked to see them resolve the wiring connector issue so it would be a simple plug in.

Fuel Pump Went Bad In Regal
Works great, pumps more fuel than original, so I had to tinker with the computer a bit, but it was no big deal.

    Perfect Replacement!
When we bought my wife's van, we discovered it had a sender issue and would throw a fault code when the tank got nearly empty, this pump assembly not only fixed that but the van runs and drives way smoother! The idle would fluctuate a lot when it was started, but that has gone now.
