Making sure your truck and the bed are ready for transporting cargo, or that your trailer and vehicle are properly set up for towing is only half the battle; you also have to make sure whatever you’re hauling stays in the bed or attached to the trailer. At best, an improperly secured load can result in minor physical damage caused by looseness and movement during transit, and at worst, severe damage to your cargo and possibly other people and property if the load completely separates from the truck or trailer. We have the straps & tie downs to ensure safe, secure transport.
Tie down straps in a wide range of working load limits and lengths so you can safely secure everything from lightweight dirt bikes to heavy machinery. They come with cambuckles that are appropriate to secure lighter loads and ratchets that can apply the tension necessary to secure heavier cargo, including some that are retractable. We also offer a number of straps that are designed for specific applications including towing, and transporting cars, boats, motorcycles, spare tires, ladders, and more, as well as a large selection of bungee cords, elastic straps, and safety cables.
Cambuckle tie down straps have a spring-loaded cam with a knurled edge to keep the strap from slipping. To secure cargo, the free end of the strap is pulled until the strap is tight. Ratcheting straps have a mechanism with a toothed barrel and a handle. By pulling the handle back and forth, the desired tension can be applied to the strap. Ratcheting straps can apply more tension to secure heavy loads, while cambuckle straps can secure lighter loads without causing damage from over-tightening. Ratcheting straps that are retractable are easy to use and they can be permanently mounted.
S-hooks are the most common type of attachment found at the ends of tie down straps, and most metal S-hooks are vinyl coated to prevent cargo damage. Straps with spring retainer hooks, J-hooks, flat hooks, hooks designed to connect directly to E-track systems, and other styles are also available. Choose the style that is most appropriate for your cargo and anchor points. We offer strap extenders and adapter straps for additional help with anchoring. Some tie down straps are available in different colors and in patterns including camo and checkered flag. Always observe the tie down strap’s working load limit, which is the maximum load capacity the strap can safely handle, and usually 1/3 of the rated breaking strength. Any strap should be replaced if the webbing shows signs of wear.
In addition to general purpose tie down straps, we also offer many specialty straps that are designed for a specific purpose, so you can get the job done right. These include heavy-duty tow straps with sturdy hooks for vehicle recovery, tie down straps to secure ladders to cargo racks, and tie down straps to secure a spare tire and wheel assembly to roof racks or platforms. For car hauling we have straps to secure wheels to wheel dollies and trailers, as well as axle straps. Our bow, transom, and gunwale straps will make sure your boat is held tight on the trailer. And in addition to tie down straps made especially for motorcycles, we have soft loops that will enable connections that won’t damage the handlebars or seat, and strap sleeves for further protection.
Many trailers are equipped with tie down anchors suited to the cargo they’re used for. Some trucks come from the factory with anchors in the bed, while others have none. But even if your truck or trailer has anchors they may not be in the right place for your needs. We have a number of solutions so you can get the right tie down attachment points for the cargo you’re hauling. Some, like the loops that install in truck bed stake pockets, or the moveable clamp-on hooks and loops that attach to the bed side rails, require no modifications to your truck, while others, including surface mount tie downs and folding D-rings, are bolt-on and can be attached to existing holes or require drilling holes into the bed or trailer. We also offer versatile track systems and dedicated motorcycle tie downs.
