Lifting a vehicle for more ground clearance requires longer shock absorbers. Without a longer shock, the amount of lift you've dialed in will simply be subtracted from the suspension travel, because the shock won't let the suspension droop further than stock. Not only will this prevent tires from contacting the ground, limiting traction, it will destroy the shock within a few hundred miles.
