Product Details
Cantilever Extension (24002XT) by Thule®. Crossbar Length: 69.5". This extension mounts to the crossbars of your rack system and provides another 32” of support to keep cargo from touching the roof of your cab. It’s especially handy on short-bed pickups for hauling 8 ft. lumber or pipe.
Installation
PVC pipe, trim like 1/4-round, carpeting and the like aren’t stiff enough to maintain their integrity and start beating a tattoo on your cab roof under way. This extension will protect your paint and your sanity by supporting them. It simply clamps to the front cross bar, and needs about 2” clearance to the cab roof. While it won’t raise the overall load capacity of your rack, it will make hauling longer payloads simpler and safer.
