The bolt goes all the way through the receiver and both the bolt and lock fit tightly.

The Snug-Tite Receiver Lock comes with a One-Key lock cylinder and 2 keys. The integrated lock cylinder cover keeps moisture and dirt out of the lock cylinder. This receiver lock comes with everything necessary for installation, including detailed instructions. The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product, and warrants the product against manufacturer's defects in materials or workmanship.
