Torklift Semi Truck Tie-Downs

Torklift traces back to 1958, when Jon Kay began his career at a hitch and tow workshop located in Tacoma, Washington. After a few years of making plans and accumulating the equipment necessary to found his own shop, he decided to open a workshop in Kent, Washington under the name Torklift Central Welding. In 1981, the company enjoyed growing success, while doubling in size and adding two more bays. The business continued to grow with the purchase of several additional production facilities and building a way bigger shop.

The year 1990 brought the innovative, one-of-a-kind frame-mounted tie-downs. In 1999, Torklift International was established. While at the same time Torklift Central Welding still exists, they keep on doing their business as a different company. Torklift International constructs and manufactures products that are marketed throughout the world. In 2011, Torklift moved to their new facility in Sumner, Washington to be able to meet recent expansion needs. The company uses state-of-the-art equipment, including dual-head CNC plasma cutters.

At present, the company manufactures a wide variety of automotive, truck camper, towing, RV products, snowmobile/quads, and marine equipment. The Torklift International line of products includes SuperHitch Towing Series components, Torklift tie downs, GlowStep Series components, turnbuckles, steps and handrails, Torklift hitch units, camper tie downs, and everything from a Torklift Stable Load stability system to a battery box kit. Torklift International continues developing a variety of innovative components and systems so as to make further advancements in the automotive and RV industries, while having celebrated their 40th anniversary of doing business!
