    Product Details

    Plastic Black Cold Air Intake System with Pro 5 Filter (15753) by Volant®. Cooler air is denser and packs in more oxygen for better combustion and more horsepower. This air intake system features an airbox that completely insulates the air filter from engine heat, making sure only cool air reaches your engine. The result is quicker throttle response, improved acceleration and better fuel economy.

    There are many cool air intake kits on the market, but how many deliver what they promise? All claim to position the air filter where it will draw in cool air. Some include barriers that are supposed to shield the air filter from engine heat. Only Volant features a sealed Cool Airbox that thoroughly insulates and protects the air filter from engine heat, moisture, dust and debris.

    The engineers at Volant designed the Cool Airbox to house a large free-flowing Pro 5 air filter. The Pro 5 air filter, constructed of high grade cotton filter media with 5 layers of protection, is washable and reusable. It reduces air restriction and increases engine output by using precision pleat geometry that optimizes airflow throughout the intake system. The airbox air intake is located so the air filter can only draw in cooler, ambient air. Access to the air filter for servicing is provided by an attractive polished aluminum or carbon fiber look lid.

    From the airbox, cool air proceeds to your engine through Volant's Cross-Link polyethylene air duct. Unlike OEM air ducts that have sound baffles and make awkward bends, the Volant air duct is sculptured to give the engine less restrictive breathing, incorporating larger diameters and unique bends that can't be duplicated with metal ducts. (Also, unlike metal ducts, the polyethylene Volant air duct doesn't conduct engine heat right into the intake airflow, thereby defeating the purpose of a cool air intake!) The end result is maximum airflow velocity and quicker throttle response.

    Every Volant Cool Air Intake Kit comes complete with everything necessary for installation, including comprehensive installation instructions. All clamps and connectors are made from quality materials. The Silicone connectors provide flexibility while maintaining strength and thermal stability; they won't crack or deform over time like rubber connectors. The marine-grade stainless steel clamps provide a solid seal that won't loosen or deteriorate.

    Solid CAI For Trucks
    Fit in 5.3l V8 Chevy Colorado with no major problem. Bolt that came with it was a tad to short and its a really tight fit. Sounds mean n runs smooth. Good product.

    This unit was too easy to install; bolted right in place of the old stock unit. Sounds awesome, and gas mileage increased immediately. I highly recommend this kit.

    2011 GMC Canyon 5.3 V8
    Installation was relatively easy in spite of the fact that there were no step by step instructions just a printed sheet showing the parts of the air filter box. The mounting bolt through the bottom of the box was about 1/4" too long and a bit difficult to start the threads in the awkward location it was in. I had to run the bolt through the fender nut without the box in place and cut a small 1" hole in my fender liner once i located it from under the truck, then run the bolt through from the inside of the fender and then position the air box over the bolt, remove the bolt from below and reach into the narrow opening and start the bolt with two fingers. Everything else was fairly easy once this was done. Performance wise, I noticed a little more responsiveness in the throttle, and the sound of the unrestricted airflow through the throttle body is awesome (sounds like the old small block Chevy's with a big 4 barrel) the small increase in power is most notable from about 2500 to 5000 rpm, and it looks much better under the hood than the goofy sound baffle on the stock air box.

    Great Intake
    Have a 2012 Chrysler 300s AWD swapped with a 2014 charger 5.7L Intake really makes a difference on liftoff.

    Gain In Power and Helped With Mileage
    I definitely could feel a power in the take off and when towing heavy loads it sits 200 rpm’s lower then normal and my mileage has definitely improved will pay for itself it 4-5 months, Didn’t fit exactly perfect but it works

    Nothing Special
    Installed this on my 2017 Nissan Frontier hoping to maybe gain a little mpg but no real changes to note after about 10 fill ups and trying different driving styles still no real gain It is very loud in the cab when you do get on the gas or towing in hill country. Its very noticeably louder in the cab to the point if I tow my travel trailer I'll install my old air box.
