Universal 16.5ti Thermometric Self-Recovery 16500 lbs Electric Winch (68801) by WARN®. With Roller Fairlead. 12V DC. Rope Length: 90'. The 16.5ti is the premier winch in WARN’s Heavy Weight Winch Series, delivering 16,500 lbs. of reliable pulling power. Like all these winches it has the power capacity and heavy-duty large frame construction that big trucks need, but it also has advanced technological features like thermometric control that lets you know when your winch motor is reaching the threshold of overheating. Powered by a series wound 4.6 hp 12V DC high-speed electric motor, the 16.5ti also includes a durable 3-stage planetary gear train, 90’ of strong 7/16” diameter steel wire rope, exclusive design automatic mechanical cone brake, extreme duty sealing to keep out the elements, remote control with thermometric LED indicator and 12’ lead, and chip resistant powdercoated finish.

When you want the ultimate in pulling power, durability, reliability, and the diagnostic abilities of WARN’s thermometric technology, there’s really only one winch to get, the WARN 16.5ti. Its powerful series wound 4.6 hp 12V DC high-speed electric motor and smooth, reliable, and durable 3-stage planetary gear train with 315:1 gear ratio develop 16,500 lbs. of pulling capacity, enough to get the largest trucks and SUVs unstuck. And all that pulling power is housed in a large, heavy-duty structure that can withstand pull after pull. And if you get involved in a long pull and your motor gets hot, a motor-mounted temperature sensor will make the LED in the remote control blink, letting you know that continued operation could cause damage to the winch.

The 16.5ti comes with 80’ of strong 3/8” diameter steel wire rope and roller fairlead. The line speed is 23.6’ per minute under no load at 68 amps, and 3.24’ per minute at 16,500 lb. max. limit at 507 amps. You get optimal winch control with the exclusive design automatic mechanical cone brake, and the remote control with LED light has a 12’ lead. To make sure the elements stay outside and your winch stays dry and fully operational inside, WARN employs extreme-duty sealing and an aluminum control box cover for additional electronics protection. And to ensure your winch stays looking as good as it performs, a primer undercoat is applied followed by a powdercoated finish, to resist chips and corrosion.

Always Awesome

Looks great on the front of my truck but the cable has a kink so will need to contact Warn about getting a replacement, but the will as always do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. Hopefully I will never have to use it.

Great Winch. Does Its Job Well.

This is a great all around winch. It has gotten me out of mud holes more times that I can count. No need to let it cool down for one tug unless you're in really deep. This winch performs great. Excellent for the cost.

For My 1971 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser

I bought a 1971 Toyota FJ40 at auction and it needed a winch, but the PTO ones are hard to find and operate. This one is spectacular, top of the line. I was surprised that if required a mounting plate that was never offered and had to be bought elsewhere, and that it could not be hard wired to the electrical system in the vehicle. On a dark, winter night, caught in a snow bank, I would not like to be fumbling for the extension cord with cold hands and no flashlight. I ordered the nylon cable, because the braided wite would be tough on a non-gloved hand. This looks impressive and seems well engineered. Hope I never need it, but glad it is mounted.

Warn ZEON 12k Winch

Fits great in the grumper, looks good and pretty easy to install. If installing on a grumper front end, I would advise installing the rope/wire before attaching the top half of the grill to the truck, otherwise there is not enough room to install properly. This is on a 2017 Ram 2500.

Learn from my mistakes

This is the best basic winch you can get. Don't be fooled into buying any of the cheaper ones. Learn from my mistakes. It does what it says it does. Pulls four tons. Has paid for itself in my case with one emergency use. Had to pull and lift 2.5 tons which it did with ease. I would recommend having a snatch block and either a chain or heavy strap to give more options when needed. It is not always possible to get the truck with the winch in exactly the right spot. The snatch block allows for more choices.

Everything you need

I'll say it again, M8000 now comes with a mounting bracket so no need to order another unless you want a spare...So far I have only operated it to stretch the line. It seems everyone has one of these. One thing I should have considered- my driving habits. I know many people submerge their winches without problem and I do my fair share of water crossings.... I'm not saying don't get this if you see any water...it's just something to consider Great price for one of Warns top selling winches- lifetime warranty- Warns ultimate reliability. I'll update after more use. Aside from the winch you'll need to invest in a few things. A tree protector strap (not an ordinary tow strap), a snatch block or two (doubles your pulling capacity), shackle or two, heavy duty gloves, and a heavy blanket or jacket. You can buy a kit which includes much of what you need.

This Winch is fantastic... pulls almost anything with ease. Would defiantly recommend this for anyone who is thinking about a winch... save yourself the time and effort, and buy a quality product from the beginning. I know it is a little more expensive, but it is a quality product that I will stake my reputation on. P.S. Make sure you have a good Battery.
