Product Details

Universal 9.0Rc Rock Crawling 9000 lbs Electric Winch (71550) by WARN®. Includes 360° Swivel Hook/Thimble, Aluminum Hawse Fairlead. 12V DC. Rope Length: 50'. Rope Length: 50'. This winch was specially created for competitive rock crawlers. Its compact 16.8”L x 6.3” D x 7.6” H dimensions and low profile are perfect for the abbreviated space on most rock crawler bumpers, and at a lightweight 54 lbs. it won’t weigh you down when you’re tacking those tough climbs. But into this small package WARN manages to stuff a powerful 4.8 hp 12V DC series wound electric motor and 3-stage planetary gear train with 216:1 gear ratio to deliver 9000 lbs. of pulling power and fast 5.6’ per minute line speed under max. load. The 9.0Rc comes with 50’ of sturdy 3/8” diameter synthetic rope with rugged 360-degree swivel hook and thimble, polished aluminum hawse fairlead, and pistol grip style remote control with 12’ lead.

Installation

Competitive rock crawling is the most extreme type of off-roading, filled with steep climbs, severe approach angles, tight turns, and high speeds. Under these demanding conditions there’s no place for a porky winch with weak pulling power and slow line speeds. To get a leg up on the competition you need the WARN 9.0Rc, designed for the intense demands of competitive rock crawling.

With its powerful 4.8 hp 12V DC series wound electric motor and 3-stage planetary gear with 216:1 gear ratio, the 9.0Rc develops 9000 lbs. of pulling capacity, more than enough to get you over and through the toughest obstacles, yet with fast 5.6’ per minute line speed under max. load that won’t have you wasting valuable time. All this power and speed comes in a compact 16.8”L x 6.3” D x 7.6” H package that weighs only 54 lbs. The light weight and low profile design won’t get in the way or drag you down when you’re negotiating those rocks and boulders.

The 9.0Rc comes with 50’ of 3/8” diameter synthetic rope, 360-degree swivel hook and thimble, and polished aluminum hawse fairlead. A ballistic nylon sliding sleeve is included to provide extra rope protection against abrasion and wear. For positive operator control of the rope during winching, the 9.0Rc is equipped with a multi-segment cam actuated brake. The next-generation contactor control pack resists heat to provide long duty cycles and outstanding reliability, and the winch is controlled via the new-style remote control with pistol grip and 12’ lead.

To ensure the 9.0Rc stays looking good through many seasons of rock crawling adventures, it’s coated in red primer followed by an eye-catching gloss red finish coat, to resist rust and corrosion. Comprehensive, illustrated installation and user instructions are included and the winch is backed by a limited to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship on mechanical parts, and a limited 1-year warranty to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship on electrical components.

Always Awesome
Looks great on the front of my truck but the cable has a kink so will need to contact Warn about getting a replacement, but the will as always do whatever it takes to make the customer happy. Hopefully I will never have to use it.

Great Winch. Does Its Job Well.
This is a great all around winch. It has gotten me out of mud holes more times that I can count. No need to let it cool down for one tug unless you're in really deep. This winch performs great. Excellent for the cost.

For My 1971 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser
I bought a 1971 Toyota FJ40 at auction and it needed a winch, but the PTO ones are hard to find and operate. This one is spectacular, top of the line. I was surprised that if required a mounting plate that was never offered and had to be bought elsewhere, and that it could not be hard wired to the electrical system in the vehicle. On a dark, winter night, caught in a snow bank, I would not like to be fumbling for the extension cord with cold hands and no flashlight. I ordered the nylon cable, because the braided wite would be tough on a non-gloved hand. This looks impressive and seems well engineered. Hope I never need it, but glad it is mounted.

Warn ZEON 12k Winch
Fits great in the grumper, looks good and pretty easy to install. If installing on a grumper front end, I would advise installing the rope/wire before attaching the top half of the grill to the truck, otherwise there is not enough room to install properly. This is on a 2017 Ram 2500.

Learn from my mistakes
This is the best basic winch you can get. Don't be fooled into buying any of the cheaper ones. Learn from my mistakes. It does what it says it does. Pulls four tons. Has paid for itself in my case with one emergency use. Had to pull and lift 2.5 tons which it did with ease. I would recommend having a snatch block and either a chain or heavy strap to give more options when needed. It is not always possible to get the truck with the winch in exactly the right spot. The snatch block allows for more choices.

Everything you need
I'll say it again, M8000 now comes with a mounting bracket so no need to order another unless you want a spare...So far I have only operated it to stretch the line. It seems everyone has one of these. One thing I should have considered- my driving habits. I know many people submerge their winches without problem and I do my fair share of water crossings.... I'm not saying don't get this if you see any water...it's just something to consider Great price for one of Warns top selling winches- lifetime warranty- Warns ultimate reliability. I'll update after more use. Aside from the winch you'll need to invest in a few things. A tree protector strap (not an ordinary tow strap), a snatch block or two (doubles your pulling capacity), shackle or two, heavy duty gloves, and a heavy blanket or jacket. You can buy a kit which includes much of what you need.

Fantastic
This Winch is fantastic... pulls almost anything with ease. Would defiantly recommend this for anyone who is thinking about a winch... save yourself the time and effort, and buy a quality product from the beginning. I know it is a little more expensive, but it is a quality product that I will stake my reputation on. P.S. Make sure you have a good Battery.
